Chameleon Hill Forest Lodge Bwindi

We had the BEST stay at Chameleon Hill. The view is one of the best we've ever enjoyed. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful- from interesting conversations, to drying our muddy walking boots and excellent meals. We were gutted to only have two nights here and recommend leaving enough time to enjoy the many adventures beyond Gorilla trekking. Thank you SO much to the staff who looked after us so well.

Absolutely gorgeous and amazing.
The staff was soooo friendly, it really felt like home away from home.
Rooms are superb, the view is to die for, beds have nets around, shower is amazing, food is great and there’s options for a nice drink to wind down in the afternoon/evening.

We actually spent most of the time at the lodge - we did do a canoe trip, and Herbert was great in giving a tour of the different plants and history of the lake. Really gorgeous and super relaxing.

Definitely recommend, it’s absolutely worth it!

The Chameleon Hill Forest lodge is a wonderful stay in the Lake Mutanda and Bwindi NP area. With great amenities and excursions to suit your interests. The staff are an amazing bunch and Spensa and Agnes will make sure your stay is nothing but superb. We visited many lodges in our stay in Uganda and this one ranks as our favorite! The view from our room makes it hard to leave!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Chameleon Hill Forest Lodge with my husband, and we can confidently say that everything about this place is absolutely perfect. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with warmth and hospitality that truly touched our hearts.

The culinary experience at this lodge is nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you dine in the restaurant or enjoy a meal prepared for your trekking adventure.The quality of dishes exceeded our expectations. The day before the trekking they gave us the option to choose our preferences.

The rooms at Chameleon Hill are stunning, offering not only comfort but also breathtaking views of Lake Mutanda. Waking up to such a tranquil and picturesque setting was a real treat. It's the perfect place to escape the everyday routine and immerse yourself in nature's beauty.

In summary, our stay at Chameleon Hill Forest Lodge far surpassed our expectations. I would rate it a perfect 10/10. If you're looking for a place where perfection meets nature, this is it.

The lodge is very gaudy, what gives it a friendly atmosphere. Meals are delicious. And after the Gorilla trekking, i used to spend the evening at the cozy fireplace.

This secluded lodge provides a stunning view of Lake Mutanda. The lodge has quaint cottages that are very well kept on a daily basis. The staff is excellent, providing superior service. Angnus and Spenca were especially kind and helpful.

The lodge is very well equipped and has a stunning location overlooking Lake Mutanda.
Although there are many great lodges in beautiful locations, this one is special. The difference here is clearly the team, all of whom exude a super warm and friendly atmosphere. On arrival you immediately feel at home away from home, and on departure it feels like saying goodbye to friends.

I have been to a few lodges in the area and in my opinion there’s nothing better than Chameleon Hill. The ambiance is beautiful, makes you feel like you’re in a fairy tale! The service, staff, food and rooms are simply amazing! That’s the one place I’ll always recommend to everyone! I give it 10+++ stars ⭐

We just spent 4 days at this magical place on Lake Mutanda and do not want to leave. it‘s been a wonderful stop to experience the Gorilla Trecking and we enjoyed every minute we spent at the lodge. The service is extraordinary and there are so many lovely details to discover everywhere on the premises. The staff at Chameleon Hill Lodge makes every stay very special and you feel at home from the minute you walk in. Definitely recommend to stop here during your Uganda trip! The lodge also offers many activities to experience the local surroundings. We enjoyed a fantastic boat trip on Lake Mutanda and the massage on our room veranda was a 5/5 experience too!

Chameleon Lodge is an absolute wonder!

• The setting is breathtakingly picturesque.
• It was the ideal 5-day base for us during our recent (June 2023) Gorilla tracking excursion: not too flashy, but still very comfortable with lots of caring and personal service from the staff.
• We befriended so many of them (easy to do). But special mention should be made of: Charles, the GM; Moses, the head chef; Agnes, Rachel and Spensa, front of house management; and Herbert, our guide supreme on the boat tour and hikes around the lodge.
• Our special kosher catering requirements were handled effectively, with great empathy and enthusiasm.
• They baked a lovely cake and sang to me for my birthday dinner.
• And then they all gave us a standing guard of honour when we drove out of the lodge. It was quite amazing.

Everyone in our group just walked around during our stay there with permanent smiles on our faces.

The staff here goes above and beyond. I am so grateful to our driver, Roger for being with us every step of the way this trip. Also to Agnes, Rachel, Spensa, and the entire staff here at the lodge. We couldn’t have asked for a better trip or service, and the view is just breathtaking. We also received fruit platters to our room in the afternoon - such a nice touch and fresh/local produce. Scraps are given to the bunnies you pass on the way to the lobby! Can’t wait to come back

Amazing lodge in a beautiful location. You are on the Hill overlooking lake Mutanda and volcanoes, it's stunning! All the rooms have the same view and a little deck to enjoy it.
Food was very good and the staff is very friendly, caring and welcoming.
It takes time to get to that hill but it's definitely worth it. Mind that the rooms are located also on the hill and there are stairs. You have to go up/down to get to the reception. Also if you want to go to the lake, you do a bit of hiking through the forest.

A modern, beautiful lodge with incredible staff! A wonderful place to relax after the gorilla tracking. If you have a chance to stay here - then do it and do it again if you can!! :-) The view from the lodge and also the lovely guest rooms + main building are more than just beautiful. The experience is actually something you won't forget easily!!!

We were looking forward to the visit from booking as Jennie and the team were so helpful with some admin we couldn’t get sorted. We arrived and what a stunning place we got to! We had an adventure getting here as we took the wrong road but Gilbert welcomed us with open arms!! It was off season so we had the run of the place. The room we had was delightful and what a view. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was too. Thank you Gilbert Spencer & Said for making us so welcome.

This place is incredible. The view from the balcony over the lake is mesmerising. The staff cannot do enough for you and it is well located for gorilla tracking in Bwindi.

We are loving our stay at Chameleon Hill - the accommodation is great, view is beautiful, and food is delicious. We also really enjoyed our community walk where we saw the local villages and children.
