Worthy of 5 stars. It’s a beautiful opera house. Very accessible. Decent prices. Relaxed atmosphere. I saw Madame Butterfly. Surprised me how few people dress up here. Appreciative audience. Very good singers

Took a guided tour but unfortunately it was in Russian and not in English. However, I still enjoyed the tour because of the fascinating interior architecture designs of the theatre. Was built in the 1800s making it one of the oldest opera theatres in the world and it is the most famous landmark of Odessa that you definitely want to visit. The Swan Lake was being preformed in the theatre when I was in Odessa but unfortunately tickets were sold out!

It’s a must if you are in Odessa. It’s one of the most impressive Opera theatres around the globe. True masterpiece. If you are lucky you may see a rehearsal during your excursion.

My wife and I were there watching the opera Carmen. We had the pleasure of sitting in a box.
An incredible atmosphere, an architecturally very interesting building. In the breaks between the files you can have a good look at the inside of the opera and take photos.

The staff were very helpful in finding the right place.

This is simply a stunning building. The outside is impressive, but inside is even better. Tickets are relatively inexpensive, bit of you just want to visit, you can do a guided tour for about 9eur for an hour. Most tours are in Ukrainian, but they do some in English. Info is a bit lacking on line, so best to call in when the box office is open. Our tour was 4:00 pm on Friday afternoon. The guide was clear and very knowledgeable.

Its a great tourist spot . Very crowded , so many fun activities to do their other than attending a concert , there is angel statue infront of the house , local belief is that it brings us good look

This is truly the most beautiful building in Ukraine, and probably one of the most beautiful in the entire world! If you'll have a chance to come inside - you'll not regret. It's same beautiful outside and inside!

Well I couldn't see a performance as we were still in lockdown but I managed to get escorted by a lovely lady around the theater.The atmosphere when empty is enthralling,it must be pure magic come performance night.I doubt that any show would disappoint for us visitors because the venue and event would carry it alone. You would expect to see an Illusionist like the character Ed Norton plays in the movie to be on show here along with the people of that era.

The Opera house in Odessa is very beautiful and a must place to visit. I went to Opera and Ballet and both were very good however I prefer Ballet. The Opera can be in Russian or Italian and you can see that in the monthly schedule. It is very cheap as the most expensive ticket when I attended costs 150 grivnas=5.6 usd. Most places are good and you have good view from almost everywhere. During the break or before the performance you can walk around and take pictures as after the performance finishes you need to leave, you can't take pictures at that point. Everytime I can I visit this place and see a performance. Highly recommended.

We went to see a ballet show on a Saturday afternoon. It was a student's representation so we got the tickets quite cheap 90UHA, less than 3 euro. The seats were quite good and the show was lovely, but the thing I was the most excited about was seeing the Opera house on the inside. It is such a gorgeous building. I really recommend the experience, especially for that price. The normal representations were about 5 euro which ia also quite cheap.

A beautiful theater, definitely worth a visit. This time I`ve been to the behind the scene tour with the "Gid s toboi" team. It was awesome, kids loved it, men loved it, women loved it. A very natural, smooth story combining details on history, everyday functioning and technical details of the famous opera. The tour guide answered all group`s dumb/tricky/fun/interesting questions. An absolute must do place. And the tour is highly recommended to the ones who have time and want to brighten up the regular theater visit.

Amazing building, amazing shows. If you visit Odessa definitely see an Opera!! There are guided tours during the day but get a ticket and see an Opera! If you know Ukrainian language there are subtitles on a screen while you watch the operas. Acoustics and the inside decorations are mesmerizing.

One of the best places you should visit when you are in Odessa that is one of the most impressive Opera theatres around the world. Very good place.

Such an amazing opera house. The 2 shows i had seen was even better than in European staging. The prices are affordable, but dont forget to buy your tickets in advence.

The 19th-century theater is well preserved and well maintained. A magical atmosphere. Come see and hear opera in amazing acoustics. You can buy a ticket to a private cabin. And prices are very cheap compared to other places in Europe.

Loved the place it was our luck that we found tickets while we were here the show not the best but the price you pay worth it and it worth it just to go there and see the place

The Opera House is the pride of Odessa, despite the fascist attempts to blow up this work of art. The Opera Theater is still part and face of Odessa. It is impossible to imagine Odessa without an opera house. The Opera Theater fascinates with its beauty any person, no wonder the Opera House takes the second place in beauty in the world. The building itself is made in the form of a horseshoe, which creates unique acoustics inside. The Opera House is beautiful at any time of the year, but since Odessa is a sea city, Odessa, like all sights, is best visited in the summer or late spring. Near the theater there is a huge space for walks, just next to the theater there is a monument of heroes of the Second World War, if you go down Pushkin Street you can see a monument to the famous Russian writer, who has his back to the Odessa City Council, or take a walk through the recently opened parks: Istanbul and greek. There is a registry office not far from the opera house, so it is very easy to meet newlyweds near the opera house. It is difficult to describe the opera house with just one word, you need to go there, or even better buy a ticket to any opera and make sure that this theater is immense.

Возле театра есть огромное пространство для прогулок,так же рядом с театром есть монумент героев времен Второй мировой войны, если спуститься на улицу Пушкина вы сможете увидеть памятник знаменитому русскому писателю, стоящего спиной к одесскому городскому совету,или же прогуляться по недавно открытым паркам: стамбульскому и греческому. Недалеко от оперного театра находиться загс, поэтому встретить молодоженов возле оперного театра очень легко. Сложно описать оперный театр одними словами, в нем нужно побывать, а еще лучше купить билет на любую оперу и убедиться в грандиозности этого театра самому.

The best place to visit if you come to Odessa. The theater isn't just beautiful, every play is the best condition of art. We were watching ballet The sleeping beauty and we were impressed by the spectacular show.
