The food is delicious.
Their crusted fish is literally the best thing that I have eaten in Zanzibar - though considering the price I would recommend trying it in nearby Safi Restaurant where it is almost as good as here but for half of Fadhil price, and Safi atmosphere is better as well.
Excellent curry - my girlfriend said that it was the best curry that she had ever eaten.
I understand negative opinions about the atmosphere - the place is located in rooms where they surely kept goats in the past. Therefore certainly you will experience unpleasant smells.

Off beatem track, a hidden gem of Jambiani. The owner is a fisherman, he serves super fresh stuff like lobster (12$) and variety of seafood. Strongly recommended. You pay for the food not for decoration. The place is very modest and not fancy but the food ….. mamma Mia. Tomorrow we go again ✌

One of my best discovery in Zanzibar 💕
This restaurant was just next to our hotel and we went there several times.
The vibe during day is so cute and authentic with nice naive paintings on the wall, sand as a ground.
A local family is running the restaurant and they are such nice people.
My favorites dishes were the cigale and the prawns with lemon and garlic. Go there it will not disappoint you.

The best seafood I've ever eaten. The lobster was delicious! We were staying in Jambiani, we decided to walk to this place. The restaurant itself totally reflects the vibe of the nearby villages we passed through. The place itself looks very unassuming, but the food is delicious and the prices are really acceptable. Do not judge a book by its cover. For all of the fans of seafood and local cousine I highly recommend this place!

Been coming to Zanzibar for years and discovered Fadhil’s on our first trip. Almost the only place we eat when we come. Amazing fresh food, amazing prices and a friendly family atmosphere.

Don't let the interior scare you, this place is a gem, we tried a lot of food from the menu, they are all fresh and incredibly tasty and delicious. The wait time is a bit longer compared to the western standard, but this is usual in thr area. Price is very affordable, and the portions are big enough.

After reading all these reviews, I had to give it a try. And what should I say. While typing this, I am missing the food again. It is run by a local family. Close to the beach. I have tried several dishes on the menu; Seafood platter for 2 (be sure you are hungry because its a lot of very tasty food), peanut crusted fish, Fadhils prawns tempura, 1/2kg lobster and a couple other dishes. All the dishes were as always good. Sometimes it takes a bit of time, but is more then worth it to wait!! I tried several restaurants around here in Jambiani and in Paje and Stone Stown, but this is my favorite and best seafood restaurant!

We loved Fadhil Restaurant. I rarely write reviews but we came here based on good Google reviews and wanted to add our own as this was superb. Fresh and delicious food, generous portions, good value, and great hospitality. If the seafood salad is on the menu, definitely order it. Fadhil is clearly someone who loves to cook and it shines through in the food. Highly recommend.

Amazing restaurant hidden in the village. I’m sure most people would probably never come here because of its location but you must try this amazing food it is the best on the island! The peanut crushed fish is amazing and the calamari is to die for!!

This place is a must visit when at zanzibar. It is a family operation with tables directly at the beach. The food is the best we had while our stay at Zanzibar. We ordered the Calamari and the mixed Seafood Curry. Absolutely lovely. Seafood is highly recommended.

Check this place out !!!

PS: Bring some waiting time or be early they are quite busy but it is absolutely worth the wait.

We loved our dinner at Fadhil’s. It is delicious, fresh local food served with a smile. The prices are reasonable and the portions are huge! I had the peanut crusted fish which was so good and unlike anything I’ve tried before.

We didn’t have to wait long for our food but we did go earlier and were the only people there when we ordered.

The restaurant feels like it’s in someone’s front room which for us just added to the charm of it. Also just a heads up that it’s cash only and they don’t serve alcohol.

The restaurant itself is a bit off the beach, follow the narrow pathway between two stone fences. The food was really delicious, the coconut crusted fish was trully amazing. As a bonus the food is reasonably priced and the floor is covered with sand, a great experience! It is open all day.

Great seafood place. Both the cigale and the tiger prawns were very flavourful. The pineapple desert was also amazing. Definitely recommend!

Fadhil’s little restaurant proved a revelation after eating expensive rubbish food in several l beach restaurants . After trying Fadhil's cooking , we ate there every night and always looked forward to it.
Fadhil is a trained chef who clearly loves cooking, is very proud of and knowledgeable about Zanzibar cuisine and produces delicious , fresh and beautifully presented food.
We tried all the dishes from the menu (seafood and chicken) and other that Fadhil cooked to order. We had coconut octopus curry, grilled and fried fish, grilled chicken and rock lobsters- all delicious, and wonderfully spiced with ginger, cinnamon, cardamom and other Zanzibar spices . The mains are served with rice (pilaf or plain) or potatoes either sautéed with onion or chips and stir fried or curried vegetables. Fadhil's simple tomato and avocado salad is to die for. For the price of the main course you also get a dessert and Fadhil produced a different one every night we ate there. We had hot, fried bananas in coconut or chocolate sauce, lovely crepes, cakes and wonderful local desert of little balls of delicate puff pastry in brown sugar syrup infused with huge amount of cinnamon and cardamom and served with spiced coffee.
As everything is cooked to order it takes about one hour for the dishes to arrive ( normal in Zanzibar) so it is best to order it in advance or even let him know in the morning what you would like to eat (i.e. if you want a particular seafood as he will buy from the fishermen).
People we spoke to also loved Fadhil's food and considered his food the best in Jambiani.

Small local restaurant. Ordered garlic lemon prawns and masala chicken and loved it. Quite a big fill of plate. The mango juice was okay.
