One of most beautiful beaches!

We arrived shortly before 11am on Saturday. There were not many people. People arrived later after couple of hours when we left.

To see the beauty and to be able to walk on the beach I suggest to go there when there is low tide.

Don’t forget special shoes! There are sea urchins in the water.

The most beautiful beach I've ever seen. $1 entry. As soon as you enter you're greeted with the most beautiful water and sand. Super quiet even in the middle of the day. Couldn't believe it considering how gorgeous it is. And the best part - no pushy sales people like you get elsewhere on the island.

The beach, situated between massive rocks, is a sight to behold. The best time to visit is during low tide when the beach area expands. During high tide, it's perfect for swimming.

From an elevated viewpoint, you can enjoy a magnificent view of the beach. The colors of the beach are simply breathtaking when the sun shines upon it.

It is one of the most beautiful beaches in Zanzibar. As we lived near, we had the opportunity to see a beach from various angles: the life in the morning, high and low tides, sunsets, and Maasais.
You shouldn't skip this place while you are in Zanzibar.

Nice small beach. We came after 3pm and half of the beach was already in shadow. The entrance is 2K TZS/person. Don't forget special shoes because there are some rocks in the water and sea urchins

Very nice place. Not at high tide when the beach nearly disappears. Ask in advance the water level but do not miss this place to visit. There is a romantic restaurant on the rocks with a beautiful view of the ocean.

We had lunch at Usumba Rock restaurant in Mtende beach. The place itself is nice, the sea view and we were lucky that it was high tide. The food was fresh, hot and tasty 😋. My Client enjoyed her Birthday lunch. Highly recommend this place .

Beautiful remote beach with no people selling you things every five meters! Really peaceful. The only things to note is that the water is very shallow (so more for chilling rather than swimming), there were a lot of small crabs and also that you have to pay 2k tzs /person to enter the national park, so bring beach shoes and cash :)

Beautiful beach in the south of the island. We've been there between 11-12 AM and it wasn't crowded. The entrance fee is like 1$ pp.

If you consider yourself a beach person and you plan on visiting Zanzibar, Mtende Beach definitely needs to be added to your list. I’ve gone through everything you need to know before visiting Mtende beach in this blog post, that way you can have the best visit possible. The main section of the beach is situated between two rock formations, in a big cove. It’s absolutely stunning, and one of the coolest places to watch the tides change on the island.

Personally, this was the most beautiful place and beach on the whole island. We very much loved it and we even wanted to go back to it. We went there when it was the beginning of high tide, and it was so so stunning!

Make sure you check the tide before you arrive. If you get there at high tide then there isn’t a beach. During low tide it’s a great beach to relax on, check out the rock, visit the bar down the beach and just enjoy a peaceful day. Not any tourist at all when we were there. It’s not in the main stretch of beaches and you need to taxi or drive a scooter like we did to get there.

Beautiful low tide beach. Entrance fee is 2000TZS per person. We went with the scooter without a problem.

Stunning beach. We were told of this place by our guide at Jozani forest. It costs TZS2000 to drive down to it as the area is a conservation area. There is a bar overlooking the sea which we stopped and had a drink at. Worth the perseverance of the drive if ever near there.

Picturesque rock beach with unbelievably white fine grain sand. Beware of sea urchins in the deeper areas.
