The hotel is beautiful. The service is good, the employees are very nice and very well trained.
The rooms are clean, and they pay attention in all details.
The beach is nice, calm water, great for kids! But watch out the orichs! They are on the water and can easily spike your feet.
The food is good, but if you expect huge variety, you get frustrated. They have what they have...
On the beach they are very limited on food. And you will not find anything before lunch. Not even small snacks.

Absolutely stunning resort. We were blown away by the beautiful Villas, private beach and great choices of restaurants. The staff were very attentive and friendly and went out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. We will be coming back. On a side note, there was enough gluten free options to keep this Coeliac very satisfied.

It's a magical place! A truly beautiful place for a perfect vacation. The best in the North side of the island. Don't look any further. The rooms, the clean and peaceful beach the so attending staff as well as the great food and eating options (make sure you taste at least one of Juma's shakes! ) the best option for a total escape. Envy you if you are there....

Stayed here a while back, was an amazing hotel. They meet you at the airport with cold flannels and cold water. Its about an hour drive to the resort.

Attention to detail is high with fresh flowers in the room, it was my birthday and they brought a cake out for me in the restaurant with out being asked (they had checked the passports on check in)

There is the pier with the huts that have shisha, music and dancing. Beaches are lovely and golden, crystal clear sea.

Would recommend this place any time, not cheap but well worth it for that special occasion.

Very good resort with HIGH level of services.
Accommodation very ok, cleaning the room every day, and most impressive is the garden area of the resort. Beautiful flowers in amazing combination with bushes and trees.
We have all inclusive with manh choise of food, drinks, entertainment every night. One night they served us at the garden, in fact was a local Masai food, which was very nice.
We recommend the resort for rest, enjoy, sun and beach.

We are still on cloud 9 from our 6th wedding anniversary in Zanzibar! What a treat it was to stay at a villa at Diamonds Star of the East. Originally, we booked at the Riu Palace Zanzibar and a week before our trip we were notified by Riu that the resort would be closed during our trip for approximately 2months. Possibly for renovations? No idea. We were told that we were put in a villa at this newly acquired Riu property which the top quality of service that we anticipated. Through a series of emails to ease my anxiety, we finally were ok with the switch. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the staff at the main reception center and picked up by our night butler and his buggy. He took us to our villa, retrieved our luggage and guided us inside. This was at 4am so we were beyond exhausted but quickly woke when we entered our gorgeous villa. It was simply beautiful! I have never stayed anywhere so gorgeous. I was in awe. To make things even better, there was fresh fruit, champagne and cocktails waiting for us in our villa! I could go on and on but the pictures do it no justice…Villa #1 was such a dream. It made our time in paradise extra special. The staff was super attentive. As soon as we would push the butler button, within minutes someone was at our door to attend to us. One time, I was hungry at 4am and they made us sandwiches! Each day our room was thoroughly cleaned, bar and refrigerator replenished with our favorite soft drinks, beer and champagne. One night my husband got ill and they got the resort doctor to us right away. Our butlers even checked on him throughout his time being sick to make sure that he was fine. I have so many more great memories about our time but it would be such a long review. Special thanks to Scola, Mariam, Constatine, Veronica, Barak (the short one and the tall one hahah), Fanuel and Doidi. You were all so good to us. You all spoiled us. I miss Zanzibar already and cannot wait to return! Thank you for a magical trip and 5 star service!

The best resort ever. We had the time of our lives, clear blue water, great staff, amazing fish-food, dream resort! Wish to get back as soon as possible!!!

Great place I was there with my family and it was really fun not recommended if you have babies but if your going with your friend or your children that are not babies it can be allot of fun the people are great the service is great and everything is just great I recommend it.
