Nomad day café

Nomad Day Cafe is probably one of the most popular brunch spots in this side of the lake. Possibly, the entire lake. Often crowded by tourists for its very good brunch selections.

I got their smoked chicken croissant which was good, but would be even better if it was served with scrambled egg (you can order extra, by the way!) I wish my brunch had more salad in it though. They also offer open sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, and a selection of drinks. I got the citron tea, which I would suggest you get hot instead of iced (it was pretty warm that day, so I opted for iced).

The place is very cozy and I would've hung out here longer if we weren't on our way back to Taipei. A definite spot to check out whenever you're at Sun Moon Lake. A solid 4.5/5! :)

A very proper cafe. Every drink and food item came out very nicely done. The passion fruit cheese cake is professionally made, cream cheese is smooth, with a nice biscuit base and not sour at all with the passion fruit. The waiters spoke great English too. Highly recommend visit if you are looking for a cafe.

Side note: seems like they also sell boat tickets at discounted $200 instead of $300 per adult.

Easily one of the best food stops around Sun Moon Lake if you’re looking for a hearty brunch, sweet pastries, sandiwches, and coffee.

I got their tuna melt with extra scrambled eggs and an iced americano and added an order of their cream cheese cinnamon roll..

Their tuna melt is served with fruits and veggies, but adding eggs makes it even more delish.

Their cinnamon roll with cream cheese was good, but I wish they placed more cream cheese.

It’s better to place a reservation. Since I didn’t have one, the staff graciously offered a table for an hour—something I really appreciated.

The place also promotes different music and art events, so don’t forget to check that out.

This cafe is worth your while :)

Beautiful little café at the Sun Moon Lake.
We went there for breakfast and the food was great!
We had a Chai Latte that tasted really good, Honey Lemon Juice and the signature breakfast.
The breakfast was really tasty. The sausages had a bone inside which confused me a little but it seems to be a speciality of some kind.

The staff was really friendly and spoke english exceptionally well.

Brilliant cafe at Sun Moon Lake, so good we went there twice in one weekend. The French toast is to die for and the croissants are warm and delicious. The cinnamon buns are also a highlight.

Very cozy small french-taiwanese owned café. The presentation and the quality of the food is absolutely worth the money and all plates come with some fresh fruits and salad. The local black tee you should not miss. Better come here than going to st***bucks !

Food and drinks were good. Overall service was good as well, but one of the girls working there was quite unfriendly. Also the name of the dish with croissant with egg salad was misleading as it was actually just an egg. Place tends to get quite busy with foreigners which is expected based on the name :)

Best brunch cafe at sun moon lake even though the place is small, the simple decoration makes you comfy.. and the taste is perfect!!

Great cafe with really good food and coffee with friendly and attentive service.
The price is also very reasonable. I got the chicken with an extra sausage on the side with bread.
The bread was fresh and crisp. The fruit is probably the sweetest I have had in Taiwan .
Would highly recommend to anyone .

Especially someone like me who needed their western food fix :p

You must visit this humble coffee shop. They serve very GOOD cinamon roll and passion fruit cheese cake. The owner is the local peeps here, very warm and friendly. Definitely will come back next time

The whole village is packed with greasy salty MSG food. All the restaurants look the same, serving the same food. And then there's the Nomad Day café.

They will welcome you in their really nice atmosphere, nicely decorated, spotless clean, cool greeny terrasse or cozy interior, and serve you an amazing brunch where every flavour is just right and plates are balanced. The music is original and relaxing, not too loud and add up to the homie atmosphere. They really care about the service and food they offer. They care about/for their customers. Almost everything is homemade. I'm guessing only the baguette is bought outside. Yes because they use baguette to make the pain perdu, French for "French toast", of course as a Frenchman, I appreciate this tribute to our culture, and that's how pain perdu should be made, real bread, not "toast" which is really not French at all. The food is all so great. I asked during the order if they could remove the duck breast fat, and the lady was really kind to ask the kitchen staff to remove it for me. It's usually really hard in Taiwan to get any kind of "customisation", harder than any country I have visited actually, so I'm grateful! Thank you for this moment, and thank you fo being in Shuishe and breaking the food monotony. I'd recommand the place to absolutely anyone. And thank you for your amazing English!

Delicious brunch of fresh scramble eggs, chicken breast & salad greens simply dressed w balsamic, + slices of corn, melon, pear, pineapple & .. freshly baked croissants soft & buttery (so yummy’ I ordered an extra) And a well brewed cappuccino to complete .. heavenly

Delighting experience with freshly prepared food and beyond-pleasant servicing. Coffee is good too! I also enjoyed the decorations, vibe and sunlight, not to mention the home-coming story behind a concept store like this in a town with century-long history. Will surely come again!

The best restaurant at sun and moon lake you can't miss it.
Is cute please the accomodations is perfect they speak English and the food was incredible also my friends point out that they change the forks for you if you order different plates so you can feel the flavor of each food and don't mix it. I Also think the price is very accessible and everything tasted amazing.

Hidden gem! Loved stumbling by this cafe. The food was excellent and a refreshing and healthy break from taiwanese food after travelling for 3 weeks. The meal was well portioned for price and included a free black tea. The owner was super friendly aswell. Highly recommend!

Delicious brunch! Cozy atmosphere, and very convenient. I had the potato salad croissant with fries, and it had a tasty homade flavor. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a nice brunch

In summary come here, if you have the extra cash to splurge a little bit more on eating out come here!! This is for the people who love that coffee, pastries and easy jazz type of atmosphere.
If you're looking for cheap heavy junk food, maybe this isn't the right place for you. However, the experience it offers is so much more if you have the time and a bit more money to spare.

*Today's visit situation. A relaxing coffee shop but it's still mostly filled with customers at that time. We were a small group of five people, hungry and tired after a couple-hour trip.

This place was way more than what I could have personally asked for with the amazing service, food/ drink, and atmosphere.
In terms of service, for any foreign traveler you will be welcomed with a very warm and curious ( none overwhelming) staff, and with very good conversational english. At the time of arrival the restaurant was still mostly occupied and we were politely requested to sit at the waiting area, and in a short time they were able to accommodate us. That is when one of the stuff recognized us from being there a couple of days before and we all had a short conversation about how have we been and following up with taking our orders. Throughout the exchange their recommendations and services were excellent.

The food and drinks we're amazing, both visually beautiful and delicious. The arrangement on the plates was so well assembled that there is some regret to displacing anything. And in terms of flavor, such a diverse range of flavor from the mellow smoke chicken to the herbal bread, and refreshing vegetable and fruit arrangement. For the brown sugar latte, there was just the right amount of strong coffee flavors mellowing out with the milk and ending with the sweetness of the brown sugar, it's what I needed after a long day out in the Sun. And the Hidden Gem was their black tea pound cake, a lightly sweetened cake with strong favors from the local tea, finding a mixture of the tea's earthly tones finishing with hints of nuts and subtle sweetness. What makes it their Hidden Gem, was their play on a warm slice of pound cake with a chilled special black tea like sauce on top, spectacular. However, I think the most surprising thing about the food was how quickly it was prepared considering the arrangement and the flavors.

Lastly, I couldn't wish for a better atmosphere with easy coffee shop vibes consisting of mellow natural rustic decoration, easy jazz cover songs and even a small bookshelf consisting of some literature about cooking, coffee and other subjects (be advised they are in different languages with some English). Just the drinks and atmosphere alone would have convinced me to come more often to this place.

Without question, next time I'll be around the neighborhood I will stop by this Cafe, a hidden gem of the Sun Moon lake!!
