竹石園生態研習中心 Bamboo Rock Garden

Bamboo rock garden is a ecological learning center. They have vast footprint for butterfly bamboo park, a ecological pond and few trails within its complex. Location is super amazing! 20 rooms all facing the lake and away from the busy area. It’s really feel like a oasis. This used to be a government facility for their workers. The current owner got the project 8 years ago so it was able to open to public. Government land always has best location. The views here is amazing and it is situated in the middles of woods. So much privacy. The lake trail entrance is just below the hotel. It was not maintain properly， but still nice to walk around. The parking area is surrounding by lemon trees, the front trench has 6 tods. Fun for kids. You can get the free bicycle from the hotel and bike around the lake. The outdoor terrace is perfect for sunrise and sunset. Room is spacious. Although not fancy design, but it is clean and comfy. Breakfast is decent too.

If you like nature, you'll love Bamboo Rock Garden Resort! It's away from the main areas of Sun Moon Lake and a bit of a hike up but the place is beautiful. It's located in the middle of... bamboo trees.

The rooms are big and spacious. Very clean too. The view from your room is nice!

They have English speaking staff members who are very nice and helpful. They lacked English material for tours, bus information, and boat times which originally was frustrating for me. Only to find out that the entire Sun Moon Lake lacked English versions. The staff members here in Sun Moon Lake will gladly help you out understanding the information you need and translating it for you.

Definitely recommending this hotel even if it's not very convenient to get to.

The hotel dinner was pretty good. The only option was hotpot, but we love hotpot so that was fine. They had about 5 soup base options and a selection of meats (lamb, beef, pork). Each order came with a ton of veggies and seafood. It was plenty of food and quite tasty. About 10USD per order.

The room was really modern and nice. Also, each room has a lake view, which is obviously awesome. Guests can borrow a bike from the hotel for free. Take advantage of that in order to ride the beautiful bike path!!

last thing to know: this is a very small, boutique hotel so don’t be concerned if you see practically no other guests.

Lovely front desk lady who spoke English. The rooms are really large. It's like a small apartment! Beautiful furniture and great views from the bathroom and balcony. Free wifi. It's very clean too. Ask for room 310 if you plan on booking here. Excellent value for money.

We loved it. Spacious room with balcony that we can see beautiful lake view. Breakfast is good. A pleasant 1.9km walk along the lake to shui-she, and just across street is the entrance to the Neihu mountain trail which leads to wen wu temple. Staff is superb nice. Highly recommended.

Friendly and helpful staff in the reception!The room is clean and has a great lake view.And besides they provide a children’s corner with safe toys. It’s sweet for parents with younger children.

It's a very nice place to stay. The staff is very helpful and the breakfast is very good. The surrounding area is beautiful and the view on the lake is terrific!

Very large and comfy room! Staff was nice, breakfast was fresh and delightful. Good place to stay for trail and chill.

Great staff. We stayed in May and there were free Firefly viewing tours every night around 7pm.

4人房很大 房內有椅子和小桌，外有陽台也有桌椅，遠看湖景～寧靜怡人。離環湖步道很近走個5分鐘就可切進去。早上環湖來回跑清晨日月潭真的很棒。😁 服務人員非常親切切熱情～非常優質。
