Drifters Pizza Pub 漂流者披薩吧

This is such a cool little spot in such a cool little corner of Taiwan.

It's located literally outside of Waiao station so that you walk through it as you exit. It's got a cozy music venue that descends down from the bar. There's a stage nestled in a well-vegetated auditorium with an aesthetic I can only describe as a uniquely-Taiwanese-beach-bum sanctum.

The pizzas are tasty. I haven't tried one I didn't like. They are also the only bar I have seen with kegs of Sierra Nevada, my favorite beer all the way from Northern California.

The owner and his wife are usually present and they are as laid-back as the vibe would suggest. The appease even the most obnoxious of patrons (我啊 😆 ). If you're in the area and enjoy music, brews, and pizza it would be a mistake not to stop by.

I will give them 5 stars. As I really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. And it was a good place to hangout. I’ve already been twice.

There is only one area I would give them a 1 star. And to be honest this is an area that can be improved on. The bar staff really need to learn how to mix drinks. I’m only 1 hour and 55 minutes away. If you want someone to show your staff how to mix drinks. Let me know!

The mixing of drinks is the only criticism that I really have about the place other than that it’s fine and I am always enjoyed it the times I went .

Amazing pizza, among the best that I've tried in Taiwan. Also very good beer selection and pretty cozy atmosphere. I highly recommend it.

Laid back atmosphere rustic next to train station with easy parking across the street. The pies came out piping hot and were quite tasty. Only wish was for even colder beer! Will revisit and recommend!

Extremely happy that we ate lunch here. I ordered lemon chicken. My friend didnt like it but to me it was perfect. They gave me free fries too because they think the wait time was too long (which I honestly didnt mind because I love the vibe of this place) pizza is cheap and for sharing. Definitely coming back again

Very friendly environment with good variety of live music. The service can be a bit slow when there are a lot of people there ordering food at the same time but it seams to be improving.
All round this is a very nice place to hang out to eat good food with a good selection of beers and other drinks and also mingle with the diverse local do community. Especially if you are in Toucheng for surfing!

The fries were great. Pizzas excellent. Tje American pizza and italiano were delicious. Service was prompt and fast. Great place to habe lunch.

Food and atmosphere are both inspiring and I must drop by for a while every time I’m near WaiAo. Perhaps due to Covid19, it’s becoming more crowded than ever!

Second time visiting the place after a couple of years and the vibe is still the same. Good drinks, live music, friendly owner and staff and not but not least important, one of the best pizza I have had here in Taiwan. If you are visiting Waiao, stop by Drifters is a must.

Fries are amazing, which’s the best one I had recently! Kids love it so much!

Amazing pizza 🍕 even tho I’m not a pizza lover, but it’s good enough to having this meal with my friends 🧡 definitely will come back next time, and recommend to friends!!

Enjoyed all the pizzas and sides we got. Ample seating, however mosquitoes were a bit bothersome, other than that, great overall experience

Delicious pizza! Some of the best in Taiwan! Couple it with a Moosehead Lager and some good tunes and you're rolling!

Loved the vibe! Garrett, the proprietor, has done a fantastic job bringing the feel of Venice to Waiao. The environment was chill, the music good and the pizza delicious. If you go to Waiao, I highly recommend Drifters. Can’t wait to get back!

Great vibe for a holiday get-away! It’s right beside Waio beach and train station, super convenient. This place is so popular so I understand it takes some time to have my food and drinks. Pizzas and beer is a perfect match here, whereas the cocktails isn’t recommended.

Then why I give it 5 stars? Because a female staff there that truly cares about customers. I asked her if she can find a spare chair during their rush hour. She said she’ll try her best. After a while, she came back to me and apologized for no chairs. I thanked her for the effort. BUT!! She returned again with a chair!! She still tried to help her customer even the whole thing was supposed to be finished when she apologized(which she doesn’t need to). I’m really touched by her service. I think staffs there usually are too busy to remember to smile. They’re actually super nice!

The best pizza I have eaten in Taiwan! I really find the true taste of Italian pizza that I had trouble finding in Taipei. The pizza dough is delicious, there is real cheese on it; I could feel the taste of real parmesan that we have in Europe. And the sizes of pizzas are generous. It's really very good! The cocktails are refreshing. I highly recommend you!
