Lukang Folk Arts Museum

Simply a an amazing museum. Great display of Taiwanese culture and heritage. Thanks to one of the top 5 richest family in Taiwan. This is an excellent museum. I had a great time here.

The architecture is a combination of East and West. Perfectly blended and outstanding. Highly recommend for all ages.

A very well preserved old residence built during the Japanese occupation period, that has now been converted into a folk arts museum. You will find many artefacts of Taiwanese folk art as well as objects of every day living of the olden days. A place suitable for adults and children, and for both Taiwanese and tourists. There is a nice cafe in the garden as well. Ticket can be purchased at the entrance.

Love love love this place. This is definitely the highlight of my trip to Lukang. I believe this property used to belong to a very wealthy family, so we got to see what life was like in the past for these families through the fancy stuff (back then) that is left here. The bedrooms, the office, the kitchen…. are still all here and the past just seemed so vivid when I walked through the property.

This is a well preserved house from Ku family. The place is well managed. A nice peek back to the past.

A must go place!!!

Very well organized museum with rich content. They have good collections on furnitures and items for daily use in old days. It is presented in a way to demonstrate how exactly everything looks like in the past.

I thought this museum was absolutely lovely. It is nearly abandoned right now, but I imagine during the Dragon Boat Festival there are more tourists. It cost NT$130 to get in for an adult. Nearly all of the displays have English translations and the outdoor area is quite picturesque. I spent about an hour here.

Student can get half price. There are only few English explanations in the museum. But even you aren’t good at mandarin, you still can enjoy the half Chinese half Western style of the huge house. It is worthy visiting.

The museum is used to be the Koo Family’s mansion . The Koo Family is also the top five richest family from 19 century . And there is a lot of collection which includes items such as clothes, jewelry, musical instruments, old photo of Lukang . Is really nice place that you can know more about the Lukang Town. It can be your first stop for your Lukang tour .
