Lukang Old Street

Summer + noon time = super hot.
But no worries hats and umbrella is seriously cheap here.
I had limited time here, hence I only managed to explore the old streets only.
Will definitely return again and maybe come earlier abit (10am)..
BTW, if u have luggage or bagpack, you can head to the lukang visitor center for storage..Its free but need to retrieve your belongings before 5pm..

Lovely walking street with houses built in the old style of Lukang. It consists of three streets paved with red tiles: Putou, Yaolin and Daoyou. These streets are dotted with shops selling all sorts of stuff from snacks and beverages to handmade art and tea sets. In between the shops one there are also private residences, so be careful not to stumble into one of those.

One can't deny it's a fairly touristy place and that it's similar to most of these "old streets" that you can find spread across both Taiwan and China. I still thought the Lukang Old Street had a really cosy atmosphere. Close to her were also two old Mazu Temples that I thought were really worth the visit.

Interesting place to visit with food of varieties, shops that sells different things from souvenirs to crafted woods and traditional art and crafts.

It was my first time to visit this place and it was far better than the night markets in big cities. There were variety of foods and drinks that satisfy the palate. Powdered rice smoothie was the best so far… Love it!

Very interesting place to visit. Like travel back in time looking at old Chinese buildings. Lots of food, drink & goodies to shop around. Recommend to go for visit.

12-5pm would be best time to visit, they don’t really open at night time.
If you can, go during weekday or else prepare yourself for crazy terrific.
You get to experience many old times toy, snack and play set of Taiwan.

Nice walking street along the old town.

Many small shops along the way. Most shops close after 6.30pm.

Went there for the first time. It was a nice place. Really like it. Felt lile the similar in Tainan. The most amazing part was the Breast Alley🤣🤣. Idk how that name came out. Maybe someone was having challenge for that and that's how the came came out😆😆😆

Busy thriving shopping streets, full of interesting shops and food outlets. We wandered up and down buying little souvenirs and enjoying deep fried oysters!

I really like to stroll on the old street. This time I came to Lugang Old Street, the houses were remained well which you can totally feel the past time and some culture.

However, to gain more money, there are some people selling modern stuff in the street, which made a conflict that you can see when strolling there.

Actually a really nice little Old Street to visit! It’s not as big as say Jiufen, but it also isn’t as tourist-y! There’s also very local stands around it and plenty of temples! If you’re looking for a real feel of Taiwanese culture I’d come here!

Some of the snacks I only saw 30-40 years ago, some of them I don’t know what they are! But it’s awesome walk on the street to see all these different goodies

Best market in Taiwan that I have visited while living here. Highly recommended and a must visit place.

Very cute alleyway with a big variety of souvenir and handmade shops, as well as tea places and street food. It’s also a beautiful street to see old traditional architecture.

Come a little bit early. Weekend might be more exciting. It's a nice place to have a day trip.

It's a Must Go place to visit. Lots of localities n hand made products such as handbags, shoes, umbrella etc. We bought a lot of things here. It's a nice place to take photos too (Instagramable 😝)

interesting old street worth exploring and trying local delicacies here. its good the local government and community is keeping it vibrant

An old town with lots of history and beautiful colors. Best on weekdays, weekend is just too crowded.
