Wai'ao Train Station

Traditional small train station.
There are two exits for the walking bridge which is connected to the station platform, the one close to the hill goes to the trail, the one close to the sea goes to the beach, apparently.

Since the amount of passengers is too few, the government cut down on the expenses, including the staff and gate.

Surely you can get on the train without paying but you need to explain the reason why you get off on the other train station with staff 🤣

The lamps on the walking bridge attracts uncountable insects in the evening so be sure to use it when the sun is still shining if you’re afraid of bugs.

Local, beautiful and small train station a few meters walking from the beach. The stunning thing about this station and the line train that takes you there is that it runs along the coastline. In this station, you can get off to surf and enjoy from the Wai' so beach. I really recommend to stay there for a weekend and go around the area. Food is good.

A small train station with very few tourists. The beach is just right across the road, only two minutes walk away. Great place! Just keep in mind that there are fewer train rides at night.

據說是全台最接近海邊的火車站，我們搭區間車抵達時，對這純樸的小車站都覺得非常驚艷，而且它還是個無人車站，有志工伯伯打掃的很乾淨，我們想上洗手間，他熱心的帶領我們、幫我們解鎖、提醒我們這邊無人車站，酌收10元清潔費，使用後投在洗手台旁的箱子，是個自律而友善的環境。

是無人車站，新體驗，出站要爬樓梯過天橋，要有腿力。出站過馬路就是海邊沙灘及步道，真幸福。

志工阿公很暖心，爬完山想買飲料買不到，阿公帶我去買。

但跟阿公講話要用台語，好險我鄉下長大的😆

無人車站，自己刷悠遊卡進出車站，從登山口過站要走天橋，有志工爺爺幫忙輔導，有火車經過會吹哨警示。

火車站外就是外澳海灘，有很多衝浪玩沙客。

第二天,清晨五點我便不知為何的醒來,結果剛好在日出前夕,於是趕緊拿著手機在窗邊守候,天空橘紅的雲彩配上淡藍的天空,遠方的矗立的龜山島和海面上淡薄的晨霧,這一切構成了如仙境般難以言喻的美,而當太陽從地平線上升起時,一切便成了完美的一幅畫;到了上午八點,大家陸續起床盥洗.整理行李,到餐廳享用美味早餐,老闆娘真是好手藝,每一人早餐都非常豐盛,有三明治.蘿蔔糕.火腿.煎餃.沙拉,水果有西瓜.火龍果,還有飲料可自行取用,令人感到非常暖心;還是到了告別的時候,我們在民宿門口和老闆娘拍了團照,之後就趕往火車站;但遺憾的是我們沒能趕上往頭城的火車

位處外澳沙灘對面，旅客數不多，已經無販售車票，改採用電子票證上下車，後站直接連接著步道。

車站旁有個外國老闆開的小酒吧，晚上很多外國人很推薦。

火車站出站後，過條馬路就能看到海灘。可以光著腳丫去海灘走走，附近有收費的沖水店家，不管大人小孩一人$20元。想省錢的人，可以自備空寶特瓶裝海水沖腳。

距離衝浪街步行約10~15分鐘，可以稍微遠眺龜山島，是個無人車站。

跟其他火車站不同的是這邊採用自助式出入站(無站務人員)，還遇到一個好心的伯伯幫忙報路。
如果時間還充裕，到站了可以出站去外面的海邊走走

好美的車站，站務人員陳先生說他是負責檢疫的，他還特別介紹外澳車站對面的美麗沙灘，讓我看到遠方美麗的龜山島，坐在沙灘的靠椅吃著簡單的福隆便當，人生好愜意！謝謝他！
