【水底寮南海岩建興寺】
清咸豐二年西元1852年
水底寮庒天時、地利、人和三村，慘遭瘟疫襲村，災害四起，每日皆有村民感染死亡，三村村民民心恐惶，徬徨無助之時，受普庵佛祖降乩指示，水底寮三村村民，要誠心徒步至大岡山超峯寺，恭請觀音佛祖金身保像回庒繞境，必能驅除疫魔，果真回庒繞境之後，瘟疫全滅，全庒恢復平靜，全體村民皆大歡喜，為了表示感謝觀音佛祖靈感不可思議，於是三村村民懇求觀音菩薩留在水底寮鎮守三村，接受萬民朝拜。
