Had an absolute blast with Ray during our level one Freedive course. As beginners with no diving and minimal ocean experience, Ray provided extremely personalized and professional coaching while keeping it fun the entire course. Enjoyed staying at the House of Nomad which provided ease of logistics for the course and easy communication. My partner and I added on a bonus Thai massage workshop with Rays amazing wife, Sheila. Great vibes all around and perfect taste of island life! Highly highly recommend.

Thanks Raymond Ko for an amazing journey getting back to freediving! After 1.5yrs of not freediving, I feel awesome, empowered and loving the chill person effect. Houston, there is no problem! I just did my Wave 1 with Ray, what a great week.
Ray and Simon were my teachers, both showed great patience and expertise, as well as tailoring lessons around what I could do well or had trouble with. I always felt comfortable.
As for outside the diving experience, Ray and Sheila were great hosts, everything went smoothly, and I left not only with diving experience, but with new friends as well. 10/10

It was really nice taking a free diving course with Ray. Ray is a very patient diving instructor, he and Shelia go above and beyond to ensure I have a comfortable journey , such as giving me a lot rides (I don’t know how to ride motorcycle), offering me medicine when I have flu symptom. I’ll recommend them to everyone who want to learn free diving in 小琉球

I had a blast spending time with Ray, Sheila, and Tom while taking a couple lessons focused on EQ. I lucked out since Tom was around to teach for deep week, he was patient and encouraging which helped me relax during our OW sessions

Ray makes the logistics easy, he can organize the lodging, scooter rental, and the ferry ticket if you want. I got sick while I was there but they were able to accommodate and move my schedule to the afternoon. Oh and I had an issue with my scooter but both and Ray and Sheila helped me sort it out 🙏🏼

I also had time to get a massage from Sheila which was incredible. Good vibes all around, would love to go back soon!

Ray is a great coach and person, he has depth, compassion and patience. The thing about teaching is, anyone can become an expert of something, but that doesn’t mean they are going to be good at teaching it to other people. With so many freedive coaches out there now, the things I look for when looking for a freedive trainer is either someone with years of experience(that requires this person to be in the space since an early age), or someone that’s older and has a lot of life experience in general. Cos freediving is essentially a wellness sport, and wellness is holistic, Ray understand that. Ray pays attention to the details and details really matter in freediving, he is also a strong advocate for safety which I think is really important cos of the “free” nature of the sport, ultimate freedom requires ultimate discipline. I’d recommend Ray to anyone who wants to learn freediving.

Just completed my wave 1 course and cerification last weekend with coaches Ray and Sean.
It's been a great experience. We started with a session of pool training for the basics. Then we did the first routines in the ocean.
Ray and Sean gave very clear instructions, feedback and demonstration. All with a lot of patience. And, very important, we also had a lot of fun and also saw lots of sea turtles.

Go to Ray in Xiaoliuqiu for freediving. You won't regret!

Freedive Nomad is a professional well run freedive training training school. When conducting freedive training it is far better to have the small 1/1 or 2/1 student to teacher ratio allowing a more personal flexible training event. Ray went above and beyond during my visit to the island by arranging my lodging, transportation, and ferry tickets. Additionally, Ray showed me around in his free time and we had a few meals together. Not only will you enjoy a fun time learning to freedive, but you’ll make a few friends as well. Moreover, you will most definitely see a few sea turtles during your training.

Had a fantastic drift fun dive with Ray and two of his students! Never seen so many turtles. Some nice coral and schools of fish too. Trip was well organised and I found it great to deal with a local English speaking guide. Some nice go pro footage taken as well. Would recommend.

Had a super fun time at Freedive Nomad. Ray will help you out with all of the information you need to get around, places to eat and most importantly, learn to freedive. All in the comfort of a cozy and comfortable place to stay.

I completed my freediving level 1 training (Molchanovs) with Ray. I really liked how the training is very personal (1-on-1), which allowed the course to focus on exactly my needs and at my pace. Ray was very kind and supportive so I quickly progressed. Had a great time, so looking forward to returning to beautiful xiaoliuqiu, taking more levels with Ray and seeing more turtles!

I really enjoyed my free diving lessons with Ray. We did an online session first where we went over the basics and answered all of my questions. He's so passionate about free diving and so encouraging that I couldn't wait to get into the water with im at XLQ.
Ray made sure I had a good grasp of each skill before we progressed to the next and in no way did I feel pushed to do something I was not comfortable with. I would definitely recommend him as a teacher and after a bit more practice I can see myself doing the next certification level with him.

Ray is such a great instructor! His philosophy of making sure we were prioritizing having fun as a means to stay relaxed (all while making sure we were very safe) made for a really awesome experience. He makes sure to not take more than 2 people out at a time to make sure people get personalized attention. Was able to go from just a wave 1 equivalent, directly into passing wave 2 in 4 days with Ray! Plus you get the bonus of videos and photos of your dives. Highly recommend learning with him!

Had a great time on the island and felt safe&well in the course. Can recommend!

What an experience learning Freediving from such a great Instructor on his little Island! Ray, will give you the whole package what includes accommodation, scooter rental and even his famous Ice bath!

Such an amazing freediving experience with Freedive Nomad Ray and Sean! Highly recommended if you want deep understanding on freediving with it's technicalities. Lots of fun and laughs and most importantly lots of patience! Can't ask for other instructor than Ray and Sean!

I had a very fun experience learning beginner freediving with them since they care about us having fun and not put pressure on us, the instructors teaches us with patience and they make us feel welcomed. I also had a very relaxing stay at their accomodation, where they help to provide a lot of things that I need and help to arrange things like the ferries, scooter, etc. Thankyou to Ray, Sean, and Sheila.

A very warm and welcoming place to visit and stay. It is near key diving locations in Xiaoliuqiu island, which in itself is a freediving paradise. Can't wait to go back!
