A wonderful Island I will surely visit again sometime cooler. The heat is both amazing and intimidating. You can get some good food here and do some scuba diving as well. Hiking is also popular, strolling around the port and bay is very memorable. As it’s close to the Taiwan island, you don’t have to worry about spending too much money here, most things are as affordable as it is in Taiwan. To get here however, you have to take a 30mins boat trip from Donggang in pindong.

Why isn't this destination advertised? This is one of the most scenic areas of Taiwan. It has everything all in 1 small area. Very scenic, walk, cycle or scooter around.
The water is warm and Crystal clear with an abundance of turtles. Well worth the visit, it's just a 20 minute get ride off the South eastern coast.

Such an underrated place! We came from Kaohsiung and the ride over was quite smooth. It's definitely easier to get to than Green Island on the other side of Taiwan. There's so much to do here and it's all doable by riding an electric scooter around. We didn't really have to recharge the whole day/night we were there. There's also lots of places where you can snorkel and cliffs where you can drive and drink and watch the sunset. The locals are super friendly and so eager to help you out. Definitely don't skip this place!

Take the ferry, rent a motorbike at the port, ride around the island. Rentals, courses, food are all priced reasonably. A great place for a long weekend!

My favorite place in Taiwan. Great for snorkeling and tide pool exploring with family! Crystal clear and warm water even in late March. Saw 5 green turtles in one snorkeling trip, spotted first one just 5 minutes in water. The locals have done a great job protecting the ocean; therefore, a lot more sea creatures to see while snorkeling and tide pool exploring than Kenting.
Tips:
- Most B&B can help to arrange for boat ticket, scooter/electric bike rental (see next tip), snorkeling, scuba diving, tide pool etc...
- No taxi on island, you can either rent a scooter (gas one NT$350 needs driver license but our shop didn't even bother to check as the contract freed them from any obligation, electrical ones doesn't ) or electrical bicycle (NT$350 no passenger)or hire a driver (point-to-point NT$150-$200 per trip or NT$1500-$2000 for 24 hours around the island)
- Most B&B partner with a scooter shop which can transport your luggage to/from the B&B, so you don't have to worry about riding with your luggage.
- Worth going on a tide pool guided tour (in Chinese only) first as some creatures are poisonous, then explore by yourself. You can stay behind after the tour.
- Mentioning your B&B at all-you-can-eat BBQ places and ticketed sight seeing places might get your discount.

I went to Siao Liuqiu with my family for three days this summer vacation. This trip impressed me a lot. I saw a lot of special view there and tried something that I hadn't tried before, like snorkeling. When snorkeling, I saw many marine creatures, including a huge turtle which is almost as big as people. Besides these local ecology and some geographic view, there are also much famous food. I had a mango shaved ice there. It is super delicious. Because of the special climate in Siao Liuqiu, the mangoes there are very sweet fresh. you won't be disappointed if you give a try.

Lovely island, everything is cheaper compared to Kenting. Diving and every others games are so funny and safe too!

I just loved that place! You can rent bikes and motorcycles at the bay and explore this beautiful little island.
Definitely a must see.
