A very spiritual and calming place, even if you’re not practicing Buddhism. Highly recommend to give yourself a couple of hours to come and enjoy this place - good for the soul :) arrived 10am on the weekend, and no wait at all. By the time I’ve left - was much busier…

An amazing park with so much to see and explore. The Great Buddha Park is amazing and the Museum and the large Buddha is picturesque too. The Main Shrine is mind blowing and the fact its all free to enter is the icing on the cake.

We spent 3 hours in total here and we generally move pretty quickly at tourist attractions. A bit long to reach here from the city but well worth it.

Definitely must see. When you leave the city and get to the Buddha you will notice the peace and silence in there. The Buddha is great and also the monastics are nice and kind . They have the prayers in many languages and they are helpful if you do not know how to do things or have any questions.

We also watched a short 3D movie in the museum about Buddha, which was really interesting, and it was for free!

This is a nice place away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A calm place where people offer prayer. Lord Buddha is depicted in various forms. History of the museum was written everywhere here. Staffs are friendly and they approach us to help. Though it's almost an hour travel from the Kaohsiung main city, it is not connected by metro route, it can be reached easily by R oad.

This place is love at first place for someone like me who has been trying to embrace the virtues of Buddhism. The museum is vast, and the facilities are great. My godmother and her family took us out there as our first activity in Kaohsiung. Honestly I believe you would need to spend two days out there to do justice and soak in all the sights. We dined at a vegetarian restaurant in the museum that is owned by the five star Grand Hi Lai hotel. I was simply floored by how good the food was. They even had this really unique dessert in their multi course meal which was a set of black buns filled with delicious hot sesame paste, and painted on that outside with thin gold stripes. I was so stuffed but happy packed some buns to enjoy later. Plenty of opportunity to walk off these calories, touring the vast grounds. There are eight giant pagodas representing the eightfold path toward enlightenment. Next time I will explore these more carefully. My family went into a beautiful worship room that had enormous wood carvings off Buddhist temples around the world. There is touching movie in a theater that is actually in 3D! Exhibits are friendly to tourists with English captions throughout. Will revisit soon!

It’s and very big place and convenient to visit. But it you come by yourself, you should plan to come early and come back early to take the bus in time.
My friends and I visited here by MRT and Bus. It takes quite long to come here. And luckily we got the last but to leave.

Majestic, huge, beautiful, harmonious, helpful staff, modern, good information about Buddhism. Shops and food are somewhat expensive tho.

Sublime experience. Although make sure you've got your travel plans figured out. I had to take local transit going back to the city

Visually very impressive with a 100 meter Buddha bit they also have a holy relic: Buddha's tooth (in the Jade temple). The museum has interesting displays and movies.

I went here without any proper research other than finding this on place on Google maps and thought it'll be good place to spend some time before heading into Kaohsiung. Never did I expect a place as big as this with that much exhibits. I think I spend nearly 4 hours here including the lunch I had at the building at the very back (which was amazing, a rarity in restaurants in museums).

At first, when I walked past the front hall I was skeptic of this place because it was too luxurious with Starbucks and the stone tiling. It resembled more of a entrance to a casino. But once you're through there and into the museum I was amazed by the collection and the idea behind this place. All the staff I encountered here were wonderful as well.

Some might find the museum itself boring, but this place is worth it just to see the giant buddha and the garden. Be prepared to spend a few hours if you want to truly explore this place.
