A very memorable railroad that I have had traveled on for many years. It used to be a single railway shared by both directions. It took around 3 quarters to an hour to travel between Kaohsiung and Pingtung when the train was powered by diesel engine. Time consuming, but somehow fun when looking back now.

Great day out for the family. Get there early to avoid the crowds (around 9am) and take a walk across the old railway line. Beautiful views on a sunny day and the brick factory shop is worth a look too. Delicious fruit ice pops and sausages make a welcome snack!
