Just came to visit the museum yesterday and I was amazed by the inside. Entrance fee doesn’t cost much at all and you get so much information of prehistoric Taiwan. Interesting and well served information about Austronesia. Highly recommended 👍

A really fascinating experience! The exhibition topics were really interesting and important at the same time. These were underlined by a really creative presentation which made the exploration of the history and artifacts really exciting! Furthermore, the smart usage of modern technology made this museum very special.

One of the best museums ever! I’ve been to many and this one was very well put together. The price is very affordable for both locals and tourists.

A good showcase of how Austronesians have the same roots and in a very connected way shared the exact same language and culture.

Near to train station and airport, this museum in Taitung city is really great, worth a visit.
The museum is embellished with sculptures, statues and other artifacts around, well designed and organised. The path and layout are easy for a walk tour.
There is a large garden in the backyard, planted with a lot flowers and trees. A hill with Moai statue at the top provides a good view to the plain around the city. It is very pleasant to look around the museum as well as appreciate the exhibition inside.

Really cool museum with lots of information about the stone age in Taiwan and many other things. Just kind of a pain in the butt to get to

Modern, well organized, informative, interesting. It is a little far from the city center and there is no bus going there but it is definitely worth the hassle. The collection, artifacts and exhibitions are fascinating.

It's really impressive to visit this museum. It tell the history from the views of this island. I heard that they took three years for reconstruction. To visit this place and the history museum in Tainan, you can get the whole picture of Taiwanese history.

Must see!! This museum is well organized, displays are mostly in Chinese and English. Shows history dating back 30,000 years! Ice age period of how people arrived at the Taiwan island. Pays good tribute to aboriginal peoples and their culture, even connections to other pacific islands. Austronesian is a term that should be more popular as I never heard of it before. Thank you for making this museum to preserve cultures that have been hidden and lost for so long! 🤙

This is a place that everyone Taiwanese citizen must visit. Very educational. I essentially like about the special exhibition on Who I am, the cultural identity.

A world class museum dedicated to Austronesia, and from a de-colonisation perspective.

Hands down the best and most informative museum I've been to in Taiwan. Almost all signage in the permanent exhibits had excellent English translations (the temporary exhibit we saw had no English). There were a lot of signs with a good amount of information explaining how various artifacts were made and used, and how people lived. We went a Sunday afternoon and it was not particularly crowded. They even had luggage storage service and child strollers you could borrow (both for free); I think I saw wheelchairs as well, but I'm not completely sure.

This museum is awesome. Its one of the biggest museums I've been in Taiwan, and the exhibits covers a lot of aspects of Taiwan. They also have a exhibit on the indigenous people and is quite informative. Some exhibits are quite detailed such as the anthropology section.
