暖洋潛水旅宿 Wonder Ocean Dive Hostel

I had a fantastic few days with Rene and Jim. They were so welcoming and made me feel at home that I extended my stay. Their discover dive experience was great - we saw turtles, cuttlefish and stingray. They were very professional. Rene gives a discount if you stay and dive with them. They also took me to experience lots of local attractions like the public hot springs, local market and hot pot restaurant. Breakfast was included and you can help yourself to tea/coffee/water. The location is great. I'd advise staying here and doing a day trip to Kenting because there is a lot more to do in the evenings. Would highly recommend!

My friend recommended this school to me and I haven't regretted it for a second.
When I arrived in the evening, Sarah and her sister gave me a very warm and friendly welcome. I immediately felt at home and was highly motivated to start my dive (Open Water Diver PAD) the next day. I did my course together with another student, so in total we were two students and the diving instructor Sarah. It was an ideal group size and at no moment I felt bored.

The next day, after a theoretical introduction, it started relaxing in the swimming pool, where Sarah taught us all techniques in detail and highly motivated. Then we went into the sea for the next two days. Two fantastic dives a day, followed by theory lessons. At the end then the exam, which we passed thanks to the great preparation.

It was a great experience that I can only recommend to everyone.

I just spent 3 wonderful days in Hengchun at the Wonderocean Hostel.

Hostel: The most welcoming hostel I‘ve ever experienced in my life. The host, Sarah, included all the guests in activities, like dinners or a visit of the night market. And we even watched the final game of the world championship alltogether. Even though I‘m more 9000km away from Switzerland, I literally felt like home! Thank you so much!

Diving:
And on top of this I went diving with Sarah. We visited two very nice divespots with plenty of things to see like turtles, octopus, barracudas and beautiful hard corals. Thanks again for this!

It's a warm place to stay that makes you feel like home. People are friendly and willing to make friends with you, especially coach Sarah. She is a pretty, hard working, and easy-going person. There's only one rule - be eco-friendly. Always remember to take out food or drink with "pot" or water bottle that you can always borrow from Sarah 🥰 Coach Rene is also a talented and brave person. She has lots of amazing travel experience. Don't hesitate to ask her. She is always willing to share.

A home away from home is how I feel every time I visit. Owner Rene and her sister Sarah are super friendly and professional PADI scuba diving coach. They also speaks fluent English and take great photos for you underwater. Located in the heart of Hengchung which is convenient for people arrive by bus or self drive. Various restaurants nearby. Breakfast is provided. Better to reserve in advanced but walk ins are also welcome.

Where do I even start…? Renee and Gene you are absolute gems. I felt like I was staying at a friends house not a hostel 😍 I had the best 3 days of my life at Wonder Ocean, diving, hiking and making friends with some of the best people on the planet.

The hosts and dive instructors are amazing. They go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and enjoy your stay.

I would recommend them to anyone that wants to get their scuba certification or go diving in the area.

Amazing place to learn scuba diving! If you want to make friends while learning scuba diving, this place is highly recommended!! The hosts are super welcoming.
Shoes off are required in the hostel, so remember to bring indoor slippers if you don’t want to walk in the hostel with bare feet.

Wonder Ocean is one of the best parts of my recent cycling trip around Taiwan. I checked in without really paying attention to the name, so I was surprised when I arrived to see one of the dive instructors just returning from a dive. I decided I was definitely going on a discovery dive the next morning. Sarah and Rene were very friendly and included me in their dinner plans two nights in a row! I felt at home and had a great time.

The hostel itself is clean, comfortable, and has a very relaxed vibe. It's very conveniently located in the middle of Hengchun and you can walk to anywhere in town easily. I'll definitely be staying here on my next visit to Pingdong!

Great diving instructors with many years of experience who know all the beautiful spots❤ Both sisters are fluent in English, so no worries if one's Chinese is not thaaat great:)
The hostel is located right behind the old street in a quite side alley. The bus station and 7/11 are not even 2min walk away, which is very convenient.

I went diving with Sarah, one of the owners, and had definitely a good time. I didn’t have to worry that I am a newbie, Sarah took good care of me, making sure I did do the steps accurate to advance my skills!
The hostel is also located in the busiest area in Hungchung! Highly recommended!

Awesome hostel, mainly because the owners Renee and Sarah (and the real owner, Curly the cat) are extremely friendly and helpful. They cooked us food, took us to the hot springs and markets, and genuinely care about their guests. If you're into diving you'll enjoy it even more. If you're thinking about it, just book this place already.

Great, great, great experience here. Wonder Ocean Dive Hostel is really a hostel you don't want to miss when you travel to Hengchun or Kenting.
If you are a lover of diving or surfing, you also can find lots of people share the same interest here.

Well situated in the center of Hengchun. The bed was the most confortable in Taiwan! All the great facilities you can expect. The breakfast were really good! You can also count on the compagny of two lively cats. Diving lessons are also available. Thanks for the stay!

Really enjoyed my stay at WonderOcean with Rene and Sarah.I may have overindulged myself with the hot chocolate. Went diving the second day I was there and it was super easy as we just had breakfast before we left and then hopped into the jeep and drove down to the harbour. I felt as if this place was ideal location as it can be hard to know where to stay in the Kenting area and Kenting town is just too touristy for me. But it is still easy to get the Kenting nightmarket by bus.

Great hostel! Sarah and René are excellent hosts. They try really hard to make sure you have a great time in Kenting and are always willing to help you out. Strongly recommend!

Great atmosphere. Nice and helpful staff. Clean and quiet. A little pricey but - it's included breakfast, they have a nice selection of coffee & tea free of charge and there is a guitar here if you fancy playing.
Beware of you are allergic - they have cats and a dog

A great operation located in a nice southern city. Away from the main road and we'll maintained. The hosts both know what they are doing. The stay should be focused on diving and water sports. They'll take good care of you regardless.

Great place to meet friends and diving! Sarah is a great host! There is also a very cute cat mascot "Curly" that will occupy your time should you feel bored.
