Changhua Roundhouse

These remind me of the "Thomas the tank engine" cartoon.

Great place to visit if you love/like trains.

Came at the right time to see the train being moved to its shed.

Now a popular tourist destination, a large crowd gathered at the Roundhouse on 21 April 2023 when I visited.

If you are walking, need to go down from an underpass to access to the main entrance.

Very nice place full of history, no entry fee, and accessible by walking, but also there are other entries from behind. Just next to Changhua train station. The staff is very kind and helpful. Be mind when visiting on weekends or holidays, it will be crowded.

if you stay a while, you might be lucky to see a train moving back in or out
the governor plans to shot this ancient working place down in 2022, and it's the only one survived from generations

Wonderful place for a train enthusiast. The preserved steam engines and roundhouse are beautiful and there is plenty of action to see. When I was there, a diesel locomotive left the round house and went on the turntable. You can go up onto a platform for a good view of operations and you can also see action on the coastal mainline as it approaches Changhua station. This historic attraction highlights how significant railways were in an era before high speed rail and highways. Top tip - research on Google for the railway workers houses that were near the tracks and are now abandoned and covered in undergrowth. Enjoy!

Great place to visit. Here you can see the grandparents of trains and the only surviving railway roundhouse in Taiwan.

A historical train dispatch place of Chunghwua.This place can see few old time trains of TRA.

This is a significant historical park of Taiwan that is telling of our earlier transportation and industrial developments. I found plenty of good browsing here for about 20 or 30 munutes, while speculating of the workings of our earlier railway heritage. Thanks for preserving this place Taiwan. I am more enriched because of it. Long live Taiwan. God protect us. Amen.

I was there late so I couldn't see the them working bit walking over several tracks and taking a few photos on working track is priceless.

If you have enough time, then I would like to recommend you that try to wait for the train back to the garage. And it’s a good timing to take a unique picture of ur own.

If you are ever around the Area, this is a place that you must visit.
It's one of the only few surviving Roadhouses in Asia.

Free admission. Just sign in using the visitors registry book. Follow the visitor signs.

Nice place for railway lovers. Well preserved and very interesting. There is no shelter, so bring an umbrella in case of rain.

Must go place for train lovers. It's amazing how they stored the train in the garage. It's free. You just have to register with the guard. About 10-15mins walk from Changhua train station.

I would recommend this place to all train lovers and children!!

What a great place to visit! Like everyone has said, this is a must visit if you're in the area.

You get to see the trains up close and the best part, admission is free! Anyone who has any remote interest in trains needs to come!
