Sun Moon Lake

Cloudy most the times with occasional sun coming out. Drizzling and raining mostly at night. Spend 2 nights at this area… wanted to relax and enjoy the view, instead of rushing to catch last bus back to Taichung.

Spring is the best for me to walk around than blazing heat. Would be amazing if the sky is clear… oh well, next time 😊

Sun Moon Lake is around 1hr bus ride away from Taichung City. It's a nice experience to be immersed in nature, covered with trees and the huge lake. We also rode a bike to explore it — there's an option to ride around the entire lake, or just a small portion of it. There are also other activities like the Cable Car, Formosa Aboriginal Village, etc. If you're a nature person, I truly recommend this place when you visit Taiwan.

Sun moon lake is a very huge lake and fresh water reservoir for this area. There are ships taking you across the lake to various sights and hiking trails. This is nature pure. We went from Itashoe to Sueishe to Syuanguang.

Beautiful and peaceful view! We were driving along the coast. (Which is actually higher on the mountains surrounding the lake. Magnificent view)
Arriving at the shore, we could see the little house-boats waiting for their next tenants.
The vegetation is quite dense and preserved.
A refreshing journey outside the hecticness of the city.

Beautiful place with spectacular views. A well worth it day trip if you are in the surrounding cities. There are so many places and things to do around the lake

Sun Moon Lake is a lake in Yuchi Township, Nantou County, Taiwan. It is the largest body of water in Taiwan. The area around the lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. The east side of the lake resembles a sun while the west side resembles a moon, hence the name. While swimming in Sun Moon Lake is usually not permitted, there is an annual 3-km race called the Swimming Carnival of Sun Moon Lake held around the Mid-Autumn Festival each year. The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village theme park is located nearby Sun Moon Lake and is accessible by ropeway gondola.

You can hire a bike and cycle around the lake, and stop to enjoy breathtaking views of the landscape.

A bit crowded because we came on the the weekend but the view is stunning. Ride a bike around the lake is a must!!!

這次要走路環半湖，邊走邊拍照。

建議不一定要被當地住宿綁定才能感受到日月潭的美(況且一早太陽都快太陽要7～8才看到，如果森林晨霧大點…是沒有太陽的)

居住在日月潭以外的旅館費用較便宜也舒適，荷包也能花在遊樂及交通費使用
強烈建議早點驅車前往(凌晨4～6點發車)慢慢開，到現場可以騎腳踏車，慢跑，晨泳等
才是真的感受到日月潭無人的氛圍，況且住當地旅館，價格被哄抬(很扯到爆)

(當地早餐店七點才有開張看心情，便利商店沒有提供廁所的)
唯一停車場計價無上線每小時40元，周邊路邊公有地很多都被當地廠商及住家佔據，不給遊玩的遊客方便臨停

建議平日造訪 好山好水 台灣大概沒有第二個這種風水地了。
