Ongözlü Bridge

The views of the river and surrounding areas are fantastic. There are nice cozy places to seat around and enjoy Turkish coffee or tea.

I’ve been here twice, once in 2015 and once in 2022. The area has been radically improved since my first visit. There used to be ugly apartment complexes on the hills overlooking the bridge and everything else was bare. Now there are numerous outdoor dining/drinking establishments set up, complete with shade and tables. It is a very nice place to be, and I wish I’d gone there at night as it must look lovely lit up.

The bridge itself is worth seeing, but it’s the relaxed atmosphere of the casual dining experience that is really worth the trip.

The bridge over the Tigris River is fascinating. There are cafes on both sides of the river for you to enjoy the view. You can feel the atmosphere of the city thanks to the people playing the drums and zurna on the bridge and the visitors accompanying them with a local folk dance (halay).

Beautiful bridge on dicle river . One of most popular place in Diyarbakir. Highly recommend.

The 178-meter bridge is located on River Tigris. Built originally in 1065, this bridge has 10 spans. It was later renovated between 2007 and 2010 by Ministry of Transportation. It is a phenomenal site. I would highly recommend people visiting Diyarbakır to stop by this bridge.

Beautiful bridge from 11th century. It’s called “ten eye bridge” beacuse of its construction. There is a variety of cute places to have a tea or coffee underneat.

You can get there by your car, bus or a taxi. Reaching to cafés and the other side of the bridge is by walking. It's not so frienly to visit with wheelchairs or strollers, with bumpy rocks and stairs its hard to move forward. Sometimes it can be extremely crowded you wouldn't find a place to take pictures. But It's a perfect place for family gatherings. Enjoying the Dicle river breeze right by your side is spectacular. You can even buy regional sweet little souvenirs. Prices can be slightly high but overall normal, ignoring the hot weather, the best time to visit is summer and spring.

Dicle Bridge is a historical bridge located on the Tigris River in Diyarbakır's Sur district. Since it has ten spans, it is locally known as the Ten Arches Bridge, while it is also referred to as Silvan Bridge in some sources because it is located on the old Silvan road route.
