Very well-preserved Roman theater that is one of the landmark sites of ancient Carthage. No guides but you really don't need one - just wander around and enjoy the ruins. It only takes a solid 10-20 minutes to fully visit.

Out of the other sites I've gotten to visit, this one was the most anticlimactic. Mostly because it's in use to this day, there's a stage, different light and speaker gear around, signage for the venue (sound booth)... But I still think it's pretty cool. To think that an edifice built hundreds of years ago, which withstood the test of time, is used in modern times for more or less the same purpose.

It's a quick visit.

Still used today for productions the Roman Theatre is well worth a visit. The view from the top tier is worth the climb.
It should be noted that Tunisia is a touristic country mostly for its beaches and other sectors of the country are not so well-developed for international tourism. The two languages of Tunisia are Arabic and French (it was part of the French Empire), and the performances and ticketing are likely to be only in a mixture of Arabic and French. To book and attend a performance, one will likely need to navigate in French (or Arabic) - unless you book through your travel guide

Amazing venue! Went to a Myrath concert here and was really impressed- very nice bathrooms, good security checks to get in, lots of food vendors selling drinks and snacks. Water was 2 dinar. The seats are stone so you butt might hurt after a while haha! Some people brought their own cushion to sit on. Good parking about 5min walk away, only 2 dinar for the whole event.

Wonderful! Currently they are preparing for various high-profile concerts there 🎶

Great acoustics!

I recommend the combined ticket for all sights for 12.000 Dinar

Archeological wonder located in Carthage, ancient settlement at East of Tunis lake in present day Tunisia, the archeological sites are scattered at different locations and most important places to visit and understand the rich past and heritage.

I’m glad that this theatre has been preserved and is still used. Not sure how often it is used though because the wooden stage was practically rotting away. Very impressive to climb to the top level and have nice views of the sea which don’t too far away

Day time and during all seasons besides summer is a historical roman theatre which was built by the roman in ancient era for fighting gladiators. During summer time is a theatre for musical events, cinema and even pieces of theatre.. is a great place to visit and is a whiteness of our great ancestors.. in that area got alot of sites to visit historical and information sources, the advice is you should have a guide with you.. even with books which is not enough at alla but people who studied roman and barber history can explain more and give more prove of our past and how roman brings water from zaghouan to carthage through stones build as wall, similar to great wall but ours for fresh water transportation.. to know more about all this.. visit these sites and grab a good guide and you won't regret that.. Trust me..

What an amazing location to watch concerts and shows. The beautiful ruins of the Roman amphitheater, the luxurious nature around, the sea view and the iconic Zine Mosque. I would literally book any show just to get to spend time in this location again.

This is where the Carthage festival is held, the place is huuge and you can have a nice view even from the very top of the theatre.

It is a typical antic theatre even if it is more recent.

Worth the visit, and maybe even worth a spectacle;)

Pretty fabulous venue for performing arts. If you have an opportunity to see a performance there, you should. If not, you should visit it anyway.
