Old Town Songkhla Gate

Old Town is worth walking around. Lots of cafes, murals, and a couple of free museums. Really nice relaxed atmosphere.

The most amazing place. Full of the history and origins of Songkhla. Street Art, a Ceramics Museum, Arts & Crafts and beautiful old buildings. Get dropped off there & spend a few hours walking around. You won’t be disappointed. Unique

Love the town so much. With the antique and historic building, some from war war II still remain there. So calm place and nice to have photoshoot over there.

At first I thought this is just old town, just as any other old town. But, every old town has their own story, as like this Old Town Songkhla. Towards world heritage, this town still served as a port. The scenery is amazingly beautiful. Old mural paintings can be found at several locations, to add with other majestic old buildings. You were trapped with nostalgic and historical roads, architectures. Live with it and surely you will love it! Highly recommended for those who love the feelings living in the past few decades.

The songkhla old town is basically 3 rows of streets of history filled with cafe, Chinese temples and very old shops

Highly recommend to take your time here
Murals are everywhere, need to pay attention to find em thn take a break at the Amazon cafe there

Since the 12th century, Songkhla has been known as a port town. There has been many names and different spellings used before the name, "Songkhla" today. The Saingor, Cingor, Singora as well as San gor or Sangora, were used as Songkhla's name during the 12th -17th century (Gaki,1998) Songkhla Boi-Yang is the name of last town of Songkhla three empires. Yeang How had developed Boi-Yang followed Chinese architectural style. The new Songkhla Boi Yang was celebrated at the city shrine in 1843 and this town was officially named as Songkhla Boi-Yang. With the pofifical plan of King Rama V, Songkhla was merged with Nakornsitammarat and other 8 Southem provices. In 1932 Songkhla has been one of Thailand's provinces until the present day.

Reminds me of Malacca Town but only a few traffic lights 😂... Same like Malacca & Penang street art but in different countries...

Songkhla Old town is must visit place

It is one of the most visited landmarks in Songkhla. It is completely free to visit because it located right in a junction to the old town, which means you can easily find it while you explore the town. It has a combination of Chinese-Thai architecture which make it unique for me.

A ahistorical Chinese community just like the one in Penang Malaysia.
