An interesting place for clean and fresh air. A suitable place to bathe on the beach because the beach is still maintained and beautiful. The entire beach is full of government buildings. Amazon cafe is also in beside roundabout of the beach center. It's best to bring extra clothes if you feel like bathing in the beach. You can change clothes and take a shower at a souvenir shop for 10 baht per person. Taking photos with mermaids is a bit challenging in the evening because of the crowd. There are also some visitors who like to sleep next to mermaids and complicate the waiting queue. Just sound direct, they will understand. The price of souvenirs in the stall area is quite cheap compared to other places. Here there are also many local people selling various types of food. Parking will be difficult to find near the beach.

💢 Clean beach with lots of stall selling souvenirs & foods. If you want to try horse ride, you can give it a try here. Samila beach can be very crowded during peak season & holiday as it is one of the tourist attraction. Enjoy your scenery by walking around the beach.

Songkhla Province is the province of universities and colleges.
The city is very beautiful and clean, and the prices of hotels and restaurants are cheap compared to other tourist cities.
The city is vibrant with large numbers of universities students, and there are many places for entertainment, sports, and other activities.
Samila Beach is beautiful, with all services, restaurants, and parking available.
There are also horses on the beach, but there are monkeys that you must be careful of.
For those who like running and walking, there is an Chaloem Phrakiat Public Park and Songkhla City Park near the beach, which is very beautiful.

"Songkhla" has been located on the eastern side of Thailand since ancient times. There are ancient communities and old cities, with ancient sites, antiques, customs and traditions. and many local games Songkhla recently appeared for the first time in the records of Arab-Persian merchants and sailors between 1450 and 1550. in the name of the city of Singur or Singora, but in the book Natural and Political History of the Kingdom of Siam by Mr. Gilolas Servais, the name of the city of Songkhla is called "Muang Singkhon", so it is assumed that the word Songkhla Distorted from the name "Singla" (pronounced Sing-ha-la) or Singkhon.

His Majesty King Chulalongkorn There was a royal ruling that "Songkhla" was formerly known as Sing Nakhon (pronounced Sing-ha-na-ka-ra). The vowel sound is at the end. The Malay didn't like it so he changed it to Ah. And the Malays speak quickly with their tongues, taṭha and na, only choosing Sing-ka-ra, but pronouncing it as Chingkara or Singkora until it is called Singora.

“Songkhla” is a historical city with many stories that have been passed down since prehistoric times. Evidence has been discovered, including stone axes, which were prehistoric tools. At Sathing Phra District History and culture during the reign of Sathing Phra K. Burlbet gave the view that Sathing Phra was the center of the Sia Tho or Sek Tho Kingdom. It is one of the sites in southern East Asia that received the Indian Dodong culture during the Srivijaya Empire. for at least 7 centuries because there are architectural traces and sculptures that show that Muang Sathing Phra was the administrative center for the territory around Songkhla Lake at that time.
Laem Samila, also known as Laem Hin, is in the municipal area. There is a clean white sand beach, shady pine trees, and the seaside of Songkhla. Which is like a natural living room that has welcomed visitors until today. Samila Beach is in the northern part of the seashore in Songkhla city, next to Laem Son On, stretching to Laem Samila at the end of the beach on the southern side. It is a beautiful beach, worth walking around, with fine white sand, the water is not very deep, good for swimming. The entire length is arranged as a place to relax and have a jogging track. Viewpoint with a view of Koh Noo Cat Island in the background has a mermaid sculpture sitting on a rock. It is a symbol of Songkhla Province. At Laem Samila there are small rocks extending into the sea. The beach has very fine white sand called "Sai Kaew". Surrounding the area is a shady garden, suitable for sitting and relaxing in the evening. Horseback riding along the beautiful beach is also available.
The “Golden Mermaid” statue, an iconic symbol of Songkhla Province, is located at the tip of Laem Samila. Tourists always like to take photos with mermaids. The Golden Mermaid was created according to ancient Thai legends, which Khun Wichitmatra (Sanga Kanchanakphan) told: On fine days, mermaids sit on the beach and comb their hair with gold combs. One day a fisherman happened to be walking by. startle the mermaid He hurriedly fled into the sea, forgetting his golden comb. The fishermen saw this and kept the gold combs and always waited for the mermaid on the beach. But the mermaid never appeared again.
The Golden Mermaid was created in 1966, in a sitting position combing hair which was cast in blackened bronze It was designed, sculpted and cast by Ajarn Chit Buabus with the cost of 60,000 baht at that time from the budget of the Songkhla Municipality.

Mermaids in Thailand It has been said since ancient times. Through many different stories, it is the mermaid that is popular. And the most talked about is Mermaids in Sunthorn Phu's literature, Phra Aphai Mani, where the mermaid (young mermaid) and the mermaid of the grandparents Successfully helped Phra Aphai Mani escape from the ocean butterfly. and the mermaid became the wife of Phra Aphai Mani. Until they had one son together, named Sudsakhon..

Come here twice in a year. Personally I like this beautiful beach with clear water, fine sand, windy, walking along the beach while enjoy local coconut ice cream. The statue of mermaid, cat, mouse & black stone each represented an interesting story. Crowded at weekend and shops are open too. 2nd came on weekdays, less shop & stall are open for business. Bring umbrella & cap especially on hot noon.

Love the beach, but personally think, it's toilet is not well-maintained. Please do something about it. Is not user friendly especially to a tourist like me. 😅
