Wow - what a museum. To my understanding, the place was primarily used by His Majesty Rama 4. You can tour the museum (no photos) to see how his house was decorated. You can walk over to two different wants along the mountain. There’s a cable car to the top, so you don’t have to walk up. Beautiful grounds and lots of walking around the top to see the buildings and the sites. Enjoy! #travelthailand

Fantastically preserved royal palace on the hill top.

Check the cable car is running before you visit or it is a long long hike up the mountain.

Remember to dress decorously as usual with palaces - covered shoulders etc and you cannot take photos inside - but the views are spectacular over the city below, and imagine the King Rama IV hosting diplomatic missions.

Amazing amazing temple complex on a hill. Not much English but overall still very interesting. Tons of monkeys as well as monks around. You can walk up takes 15 minutes from opposing side to cable car. If you want exercise than dont get scammed by. Able car people because everyone will tell you to go there. You can walk down. 🚡 is 200 baht. The monkeys didn’t seem aggressive but there was an army of them so be careful.

This summer palace was settled in Kind Rama the fourth 160 years ago on the hill and become the iconic tourist spot of Prtchburi province in present day. The easiest way to go up the hill by the tram cost 80 baht for Thai and 250 baht for non-Thai. It worth to visit here in the morning and late afternoon to avoid the heat in summer.

You can use electric tram to go to the museum/palace. The palace is a bit small for foreigners, but it's very beautiful.

The walkway around the hill is bumpy but scenery is great.

Lots of walking hills and steps but a really neat place to explore is you're comfortable with monkeys.

On top of a mountain there is the King's summerpalace. You can ride up with a cable car, included in the admission of 200Bhat. Up there it is very peaceful. Many butterflys and beautiful views all around. In the palace photografie is not permittet. Bring some water and beware of apes.

Really great place with so much of interest here. The Historic Park can be accessed by a short cable car ride and is actually spread across three summits along the hillside requiring some uphill walking between each. Try to go early, it's very tiring walking this site in 31C heat. What is now the Museum was previously the Palace of a King Rama IV who eatablished this place in 1859, no photos allowed inside. You should visit all parts of this site, the Phra Kaew Noi Temple, Jatuwech Pariphat Hall and the Great White Pagoda.
I love the way these buildings have been laid out in the beautiful surroundings of Shrubs and Tropical vegetation.
The Cable Car costs 50 Baht return ticket and entrance to the Historic Park is 150 Baht, which includes the Museum/Palace.
I travelled up from Hua Hin for the day, but this one place alone was worth the trip.

Phra Nakhon Khiri is placed on top of a small mountain. It is a temple complex, but also here that king Mongkut built his summer residence in 1860. Even an observatory is to be found here. It is very popular among local thai people who calls the area for Khao Wang, meaning 'hill with palace'.

The best way to get up there is by using the tram, which will take you to the temple complex from ground level to the top. The trip is not long but will save you a lot of energy which is needed when walking around the beautiful place. Remember to bring water or buy from the small shops as it gets very hot walking up and down the area. But your efforts will be highly rewarded. Astonishing views, beautiful temples, mokeys and a very special experience awaits you. Highly recommended

Very nice historical place to visit if you’re in Petchaburi. Unfortunately, you can’t take any photos in the museum. There is a 150 baht fee for foreigners but worth it. 50 baht for the tram ride up the hill.

This place is truly beautiful. It's big and a bit to walk about so you will need a good shoes for it. There is some photo opportunities here so if you like to bring a good camera with you. There is Pala E area where you need to wear anything but covered below knee level, if you comes in short they have a dress for rent and it's very cheap. Beware of monkeys around here, they do attracted to food and drinks and they could get a bit aggressive sometime. Cheap entry ticket.

A very nice quick visit to the palace. Lots of walking and stairs so if youre unable to do those, you can either just take the cable car to go up and enjoy specific places than visit all. Places are very clean and very tranquil as well. Would recommend not bringing any coke and drinks near the monkeys as they will surely take it from you. Otherwise, a really nice place to spend an hour or two.

A beautiful old palace and fortress with panoramic view of the city. Easily access by the cable car. There is a small trekking route up there to wander around so you need to prepare yourself to walk up and down a bit. Beware of monkeys, they will try to steal food, hat and bags from you.

We went at noon and it was a very steep climb and we were sweating buckets. Still an enjoyable experience and clear views of the surrounding area. No wonder the king used to stay there.
