I love dragons!! So I had to visit! The temple park is big and very exciting! You can walk inside the giant turtle! And as many people already said, you walk to the top, inside the dragon. The view on top is beautiful! A bit outside Bangkok but I honestly think this should be on your to do list!

A truly amazing temple. The main temple is the Dragon temple which you can climb up inside and walk to the top of the dragons head. Spectacular views from the top. There is a giant Buddha a giant Tortoise. 2 huge dragon heads at the entrance. The nuns speak English and guide you through the experience. Really lovely!

Typically a dragon God. The view from the top is really amazing. you can climb up above the dragon from inside it. If entry fees but the priest for the worship will just ask you some token of some donations as the incidence surrounding are being built. Beside the dragon God, there is a big Buddha. Very nicely maintain and very clean place Highly recommended for anyone who want good photos. I had taken a bike on rent from Bangkok and had took the bike over at this place as it is around 35 to 40 km from Bangkok. While returning back. You can go to some very good cafes situation right around 6 to 8 km away from this place.

Very nice and big temple. You can either walk up to 17 storey or take the lift to 16 storey then walk up to the top. Very breezy and good view from the top floor. No entrance fee, however do donate for their upgrading and maintenace. The nuns were friendly and guided us around in the temple.

Really fun and quirky experience! It is run by very helpful and conversational nuns & monks, who ask for a donation on entry. They spoke English and explained where to go on the grounds & the history of the buildings. Even though it was relatively quiet on the weekday I visited and the grounds are quite thick with forest, I felt very safe there as a female visiting alone. Lots of nuns walking the grounds who greet you and lots of other travellers wandering. I caught the MRT line to Lak Song (the end of the line) and then got a Grab taxi for 200B to the location.

Went here with a friend and wow! It's amazing. The people around there are also super nice. Don't underestimate the climb to the head of the dragon, it's quite a walk THROUGH the dragon, but super cool! There's also a beautiful garden around it.

We went there by Grab and the driver waited for us to be done and drive us back.

Amazing temple, you are asked to donate as you go up but in total we donated 100 Bhat. A must see if you are visiting Bangkok. The location is around a 1 hour drive from Bangkok and we asked our Grab driver to wait for us and take us back.

Tip for good photos, walk to the right and up some stairs to see the big golden Buddha with the dragon temple on your left

This place is wonderful, the experience is great. Go up through the dragon and enjoy the views on the roof. There were a few English -speaking monks, who explained what to do and shared some history of this temple. There is a store with water and ice-cream too.

📍Save this FOR SURE if you are in Bangkok. A 40 to 50 minute ride from Bangkok will lead you to this amazing Dragon Temple. This is definitely a hidden gem that very few know about. When I first saw this temple on Instagram, I thought it was a 3D model, but it actually exists in reality and looks just like a forest. It's a whole building that is a temple, and the dragon wraps around it. As you walk, you can actually venture inside the dragon all the way up to the top.

It's almost like your birthday. You can wish for certain things when you touch certain dragon parts at the bottom and at the top. The temple might ask you for a small donation before you go up, so make sure you have some cash with you. If you are claustrophobic, maybe it's not a good idea to walk inside the dragon because it is about a seven-minute walk and there are no windows there. So make sure you are aware of that. And it might be slightly moldy in there, so be prepared.

You will have to walk barefoot inside the temple, and of course, wear proper attire. As with any temple in Thailand, your shoulders and your knees have to be covered, so ensure you wear trousers that are past your knees and have your shoulders covered. It's hot in there, so wear something light.

I personally recommend going there in the morning when the temple just opens, as there are very few people. Some monks might approach you and explain what the temple is about, sharing a little bit about its history, which is very nice. There is also a fountain, the dragon fountain, where you can drop little coins to each part of the dragon. Depending on where you were able to throw your coin, you can wish for different things, which is very cool.

Completely free temple (with option to donate)

A long drive from Bangkok (about 1hr 15m from Ari station - €500 baht with Grab) but the best temple I've ever visited and the most excellent people there greeting you.

They're currently raising money to fix the elevator, so at the moment it's a steep walk through the belly of the dragon to the top. There's 15 stations of blessings (so you know how far you have to go), and suddenly you're at the top seeing an amazing view.

You then are given gold leaf paper to stick to the statues to pray to different things for different reasons, all no matter whether you gave a donation or not down the bottom (please do!)

A very fun day out, the gardens are also really nice to look at, and some merchants there too to buy ice cream/cold drinks when it's hot

It took me some time to really like it but then I loved it a lot. Especially when the weather changed two times. And everything was wet afterwards and the sun came out again. It’s true that many things look like as they would be still under construction but it overall the place has a lovely energy.

Great and interesting temple to visit. Unique way to walk to the top...through the dragons belly! Easy walks, flat surface winding upwards. Fans along the way.
Outside many food stalls.
Would definitely recommend a visit and pay your respects and make a donation.

What Samphran, like many other landmarks, is quite impressive with its unique design and atmosphere, however, it requires some reconstruction inside. It's important to note that there weren't many tourists during my visit. The temple's caretakers were very kind and welcoming, and many spoke English. Next to the temple is a beautiful park with large sculptures that is also worth visiting. However, it's worth considering that the temple is located quite far from the city, so it's best to plan your trip in advance. Also, it's worth noting that it can be difficult to call a taxi in the evening, and while there are buses, they take a long time to travel. One of the benefits of visiting the temple is that admission is free. If you want to make a donation, it's recommended not to give it all at once, but to distribute it throughout the visit, as it's asked for at the top of the building. Overall, I recommend visiting this place if you're in Bangkok.

The dragon temple" (Wat Sam Phran),
This unique 17 story pink temple surrounded by a huge green dragon is located in the province of Nakhon Pathom, Thailand. It is 40 kilometres west from the city of Bangkok.
There is no entrance fee, but you can make a donation. You will also get some flowers that you can take to the top of the temple and place near to the Buddha as an offering.

Pretty unusual place with its own vibe.
You can plan at least 1hr to be there and visit all the points.

What an amazing place...I mean a huge dragon all over the building, plus walking through its belly to get on top, that's neat!!
Its a bit far away from Bangkok, but that's good cos its not crowded. The monks there are very friendly and smiling all the time. They live from donations so spend some cash as they are planning to build up an elevator for elderly.
We took metro to Lak Song and then Grab to the temple for about 300thb. On the way back taxi as there're no Grab cars, same price.
Enjoy this peaceful and happy place.

This dragon temple is approximately 1 hour drive from Bangkok city. It’s a unique temple unlike what you’ll see at Thailand. A must to go place to experience something new. The dragon wrap around the temple from the ground level to the top and you can actually walk inside the dragon body to reach to the top. A magnificent view awaits you at the top!

Amazing place. Very unique. If you walking up be sure not wearing socks because the floor can be very slippery if you wearing socks. The view is amazing on the top. The bug Buddha on the top of the another building is an another beautiful thing. Worth to visit. Highly recommended. The nuns very kind and friendly.

Beautifully made and Such a different place to visit. If I remember correctly, it closes at 5 pm
50-60 kms away from Bangkok, takes about an hour each way.
We hired two wheeler and went to the Dragon temple and further spent one hour there.
