I'm a Bangkok city worker who dreams of the quintessential Thailand weekend escape, and I think I finally found it! Ran off for the long-weekend to Mae Hong Son in the north and stayed at the magical SangPoy Cottage. Newly-built but assembled from 100-year old teak wood fittings - paid the extra for one of the two spa suites that has a thermal spring water hot tub on the deck overlooking the fields to the monastery. Woke up early in the cool, fog morning to stroll down to the bamboo bridge to see the daily monk procession, and followed them back up to the monastery. So beautiful, so peaceful, so serene, so Thai! If you are looking to book a beautiful and unforgettable stay in Mae Hong Son, look no further. First off huge shout out to the owner Poy and staff, they were incredibly accommodating. The property overlooks a beautiful rice field and is walking distance to the bamboo bridge temple, we woke up at 7 am when the monks were receiving offerings and it was unforgettable.(the owner gave us this and a check list of things to do, it was so helpful) The food was delicious for breakfast and dinner. The suite with the hot tub is A MUST. Peaceful, beautiful property, great location and well worth every penny can’t wait to come back and visit.

Simplicity also can be extremely cozy & comfy, as this place proves. Thought has gone into how a relatively limited space can be made to feel large enough, and also user-friendly.

Enter the room, and a fresh perfume awaits you, and open up the shower towels, and the very same fresh smell makes you feel cared for.

Ledges on the head-stead, platforms on the flanks are examples where you can litter all your bric a brac within an arms length, not to talk about plug points to go with it all.

The balcony is minimalistic too but with a very comfy sofa, and table. Great place to just stretch legs & get cozy.

Menu has stuff like American breakfast, Bangers & mash, Korean pork with rice, Japanese beef with rice etc, and a small but decent selection of wines. One can look across the field into greenery & feel a sense of zen as the day approaches twilight zone.

Yes, location is about 10km from town but there ain't much happening in town anyway.

We stayed one night and we loved it, the place is really beautiful ! Our room was big and was confortable. I only put 3/5 stars because the bathroom wasn’t clean (I found hair all over the floor) and no kettle / fridge in the room. You can ask for it but it’s not convenient. However bed and pillows : extra confortable !
We had dinner there and it was pretty good, slightly overpriced but okay. Breakfast was good too, you have 3/4 different choices to pick the night before as well as the time.

Lovely place with great architecture. Love everything here, the room, the garden, the food, the hospitality, and the kitten here. Hope to be back here one day.

Nice vintage hotel near the city of Mae hong son. The room is very clean. Winter is the best season to visit. Weather is perfect. They have several option for breakfast which are all amazing.
You can come here for dinner as well. It all taste delicious and not too expensive.

Very nice hotel in a quiet location. Perfect if you are looking for a comfortable place to relax. The hotel is new, but has a lot of character thanks to the reclaimed teak wood that is used everywhere. The staff are local people, what they lack in terms experience they make up in terms of friendliness. The location close to Su Tong Pae Bridge is an added bonus, it's an amazing place for sunsets and sunrises.

We decided to stay outside of Ban Rak Thai and found this stunning boutique hotel. The staff was exceptional, they’ve thought of everything. The attention to detail is outstanding. The quality of the entire property is done extremely well. We stayed in the Queen suite on the second floor which has a spacious and well-designed jacuzzi on the patio. We’d like to emphasize how excellent the water pressure was in the shower. In addition, we were given a red button for 24 hour service if need be. The owner speaks outstanding English as well. Would highly recommend.

- Location: ideal for transport to Ban Rak Thai and other tourist attractions: Temples, Mud Spa; Pang Oung Lake, and City Center,.. Perfect for relaxation with peaceful and quite atmosphere.
-Service: outstanding food (highly recommend: sald, beefsteak, …) And breakfast menu is delicious.
- The most wonderful thing at Sangpoy is the super support from the owner. She did almost everything from our requests (booking ticket, find private car with drivers to visit Mae Hong Son in one day who is also nice as her,…)

Beautiful cottage with the passionate service! We chose to stay in this location because we like to stay in peaceful place and it was such a nice stay! The communication with the owner and staff both online and in person were perfect and impressive. The room is super clean, cozy and simply beautiful with the wood, the things I love the most here is it's a eco-friendly place too. The breakfast is also nice and I even asked the resort to find organic local strawberry as a Christmas gift and they did! Thank you so much for such a wonderful place with an outstanding service! We love everything there, thank you!

Gorgeous boutique hotel. Everything here is so well designed, and with a unique style; full of chic.

The room is everything you need, best sleep we had in a while. Amazing bed linens, great pillows, towels and robes.

Amazing place! Just 12 minutes away from Mae Hong Son's hustle bustle and you get to experience the awesome countryside quietness and quaint atmosphere. Lots of stars at night too

Amazing view! Super excellent breakfast and service. The facilities are very new and the layout and design of the place is very thoughtful. They even have a nice cute area for camp fire. Also in the room they even thought of having xiaomi air purifier :) love this place

Went for coffee on the way back from seeing the beautiful lake (Pang Oung) and decided that I would stay there the next time I am back at MHS. Nice and clean place with friendly staff.
