Mae Rong Son Restaurant

We had a wonderful breakfast at this amazing little garden restaurant near our hotel. We found it yesterday and enjoyed it so much that we returned this morning. Yesterday we had the curry chicken with fresh roti and a delicious side salad. Today I had their pad thai and it was one of the best I’ve had in Thailand. But the best is the warm hospitality shown to us by the very friendly family that owns it.

Maerongson Restaurant is a lovely quiet place only a two minutes’ stroll around the corner from Wat Chong Kham. The food is genuinely Thai and probably the best I had in all of Thailand. If you have special wishes: just tell the staff, they can do miracles. The 5 stars for “service” do not include the genuine “old school” Thai friendliness and respect. In modern Thailand these values get less and less, but you’ll definitely find them here. 100% recommended.

I asked for Pad Thai with tofu (extra portion) and a roti bread with egg. The food was really good. Would highly recommend if you're in Mae Hong Son!
Just be aware they are only open on weekdays until 15.30 pm.

A local restaurant with chill atmosphere. For lunch I ordered the recommended pad Thai with som tam salad. Very tasty. The staffs here were very friendly and welcoming.

Lovely little place tucked away in a side street. I had the chicken roti with salad and it was very tasty. Owner was great and explained what was on offer (the menu was in Thai). She didn't even mind that I had turned up 15 minutes before they were due to close (I got my timings mixed up). On top of that they moved the radio nearer so I got to listen to old Thai music whilst I ate. Magical.

Very delicious food and inexpensive too. We had pork satay, chicken padthai, chicken and rice and a couple of drinks for under 200 baht.

I only had the pad thai but it was done higher than my expectations. She puts the herbs and bean sprouts on the side of the dish giving a very nice texture contrast that you won't often receive from other vendors/restaurants. Friendly and clean!

We got the pad Thai and roti with chicken. Pad Thai is a must try, absolutely delicious. Roti wasn't super oily like it is in most places which is a plus. Owner is incredibly nice.

Had pad Thai yesterday....was excellent. Going back today to try chicken roti. Very freindly owner and authentic Thai atmosphere.

Ima keep it real with yall, this food is fire. The roti with curry chicken is the best thing I’ve had in a while. And the pad Thai is exceptional! :) have fun!

The roti and chicken curry are insane. Trust me, this is the meal you want. Came twice in two days. So good.
