Sara-Jane’s absolutely did NOT disappoint. Based on one reviewed multitude of visits and dishes sampled, I figured this would be the best bet and thanks to him, I had one of the best meals of my week in Bangkok.

I had the papaya salad and the fried sea bass with herbs with rice and a beer and the total was 710baht ~$20. Not super cheap, but worth the enormous portion and exquisite balance of flavors and an excellent, crispy entire sea bass. In hindsight, for one person, I should have not gotten the papaya salad, as the herbs was a salad on its own and a lovely accompaniment to the fish and rice.

I was a little hesitant about sitting outside, but it was quite beautiful dining under the banyan trees and there are many fans they will move around to get the perfect breeze. Otherwise, there is an indoor space with a/c which I didn’t realize at first.

Really love the Thai food served at this place. My kids kept asking for additional helpings of food here! :) You can request to adjust the level of spiciness in their food and the place is very family friendly. The staff is able to speak English and are quite accommodating for requests. We went back for a second time in our short stay in Bangkok ☺

Beautiful Isaan garden restaurant not far from Sathorn-Narathiwas. You can go by car, bike or even BTS (Chong Nonsi).

It is rare to find beer gardens in Bangkok. It’s even more rare that these beer gardens have good music as well! Well, at Sara-Jane you have both. And great Isaan food. I had Laab tuna and Isaan sausage. Both great. I love spicy and the Laab was super spicy.

They also serve some non-Isaan dishes as well as Italian food. I recommend to stick to the Isaan originals.

P.S.: if you plan to sit outside bring mosquito repellent :)

This restaurant has delicious authentic Thai food and some great foreign dishes as well. It’s clean and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very polite and the owner Sarah Jane is very friendly and helpful. I really recommend it.

About halfway through our 60 day street food safari of Bangkok and Phuket.

We went to Sara-Janes because of the good ratings, and very cool location under trees near Silom. It's also just 200m from where we are staying.

We had crying tiger and the fruit tom sum. Both were brilliant. The fruit tom sum was refreshing but still very interesting. Some chili and spice, but alittle sweeter. The fruit was fresh and mostly crisp. Most enjoyable.

The crying tiger was great too. The Nam Jim Jaew was to die for. The meat was a little fatty (I prefer lean meats generally), but the flavour was excellent. Both these dishes are 9/10. Sara-Janes is easy to recommend. Great vibes. Lovely staff too. The prices are reasonable too. They also have a reasonable alcohol menu too for a venue like this.

Went back a few days later.

The seabass with Thai herbs was superb. "Thai herbs" is the understatement of the year. Lemongrass and mint focussed salad, with roasted cashews, green mango, shallots, lime juice, palm sugar. Just simple, and brilliant. 10/10.

The pomelo with shrimps was also 10/10. The pomelo is shredded so it looks like rice grains. It is fresh, citrus, and with peanuts, toasted coconut, fish sauce, lime,palm sugar, just wow. The texture is wonderful. Also 10/10. If I could make a suggestion, I'd add some sweet orange or Mandarin on top, shredded in the same way so the invidual cells are released from the segment.

And went back another day for the house made Sui Krok, which was also beautiful. We mixed sauces from the Sui Krok and the deep fried sea bass salad (which we also had again), and the result was superb.

This place is an absolute hidden treasure in Bangkok. You need to get yourself here. It's 35 year family run and they work their butts off to provide great food at a reasonable price.

Don't know how you beat this food, under the trees at Sara Jane's. There's another 6 things on the menu we want to try!

Came back to Sara Jane's today after a six-month break. This time on a 5 week food safari of Chiang Mai and Surat Thani. Bangkok is just a 3 day transit.

The food, staff and ambience are still outstanding. This is one of our favourite places to eat on earth, no doubt. One of the most amazing hidden gems in all Bangkok.

And back again again after a year. This restaurant is so consistent, with unbeatable atmosphere under the trees, and beautiful food. One of Bangkok's great hidden gems.

This is a gem of a place. The price of the food is very reasonable, the cuisine is authentic Thai and as expected tasty and high quality.

The setting is lovely too - maybe 20 tables in a garden setting and it appears to be a family run local business.

Highly recommended to anyone looking for good food in the area.

Everything is so good!! And the boat noodles is like a cherry on top! Recommend to come as a big group, so you can order and try as many menu as possible!

Quite crowded at lunchtime, limited access for the parking lot but the place is quite noticeable and easy to find.
I love all the noodles here, taste and smell of their soup is so good. The noodles texture is a little bouncy, veg was fresh and the fried topping has no stinky smell or oily smell at all!
Fried Pork jerky was also very well done, not too greasy not too sticky.

500m from BTS Chong Nonsi. Authentic Thai food. Well packed with flavours and fresh. If you happen to be around in this area, play a visit. You wouldn’t be disappointed. Both Indoor and outdoor possible. Parking lot available.

My husband is Taiwanese and I’m American. We love Thai food and travel all over the world. This was our favorite restaurant in Bangkok that we tried. Lots of western options but we tried the traditional Thai food. The flavors were amazing!

Had a great time here with my wife. Food was really tasty and nice atmosphere. Friendly staff and clean environment.

A long time ago between Soi Langsuan and the Regent hotel (now Anantara) was this amazing north-eastern Thai restaurant run by the most lovely lady. The food was amazing !! She put total effort in getting it right. Took so many people there for the most authentic Isarn food. None were ever disappointed, all were impressed.

Many years later I had the chance to go back to the new location and all the memories flooded back. Food is just as good as it was. Staff were just as wonderful. Only thing missing was the owner who I hope to see my next visit soon.

'A legend of Larb (Thai typical dish in a Thai north east region) made by foreigner' ... as the restaurant advertised. And they live up to this word for its uniqueness: delicious.

They offer most of any dishes you miss of Thai local dishes. Genuine Thai style recipe.

The variety of menu should meet all of your desire.

You can ask the chief to spice up your dish - Papaya Salad for example - if you can take it.

Good for occassion. Go try!

A little oasis in the area. Just off the main road, but under trees with a very relaxing vibe. Really interesting menu including some amazing Issan dishes - clearly known for its issan bbq and suki. The grilled caramelised pork namtok, grilled chicken and wing bean salad were all delicious. Will definitely order the issan beef suki next time.
The staff were super friendly and were very good with our extremely tired kids!

Great value for money and delicious Thai dishes. Many of your usual Thai dishes (including the Mango Som Tum :) ) are available here. The best part is that most dishes are reasonably priced. Place was fairly empty on New Years Eve.

Truly Thai Taste definitely worth a visit :)

Friendly and attentive staff. Delicious food. Asked for a vegetarian Tom Kha Kai and it was packed with fresh veggies.
