Beautiful butterfly garden. The exhibits on insects are all written in Thai, so we couldn’t read them but they had cool exhibits showing different caterpillars and pupae.

The butterfly house itself was nice too but an upstairs and downstairs area. It’s interesting because unlike butterfly houses in other countries, they did not have to create an artificially warm environment because the environment is already correct. We had fun wandering around for 30 min.

i loved this place, there is a variety of butterflies and it’s super peaceful. free entry, so a great thing to do on a budget! i walked around the rest of the park and it’s very quiet, not touristy at all. wish i had rented a bike to cycle around it!

Free to enter. Very empty on a weekday. Quite a lot of butterflies inside the dome.

Nice place.

Bangkok Butterfly Garden and Insectarium is a hidden gem that offers a captivating and educational experience for nature enthusiasts. The lush, landscaped garden is a haven for butterflies of various shapes and sizes, and it's not uncommon to be surrounded by a kaleidoscope of these beautiful creatures.

I still can't belief that this wonderful place is for free. It was amazing to get lost between the butterfly for a bit of time. There were so many and they were so beautiful! I can only recommend!

It's entertaining. The one species of butterfly I wanted a picture of wouldn't stop for me to take a picture.

Despite the fact that it isn’t that big of a premises, it’s definitely worth visiting. A lot of different butterflies and really a peaceful environment.

Not bad for a "government-run" museum. Dont expect much if you come from countries where museums are well maintained. My kids love it though. Not too hot. There's a small exhibition about insects and butterflies (in Thai). You can enjoy a lil bit of air-conditioning. Not that many of butterflies but a good spot to rest from a hot weather.

A beautiful garden with a small area describing Thailand cultures and insects. Nice views and waterfalls with green sceneries all around.

A nice little spot to stop by and visit when the kids ride their bicycles in the park. You get to see a lot of butterflies flying in this little botanical garden, and somehow you might meet nice staff/helper inside that shows you the caterpillar and gives you information about different species of butterflies.

"A place where butterflies heal you."
If you are tired of JJ Market, come here to rest your wings. The dome-covered, all-weather facility will show you the richness of Thailand's butterfly species. The compact exhibit shows the process from egg to larva, pupa, and adult with real-life examples to help you learn more about Thailand's butterflies. The dome where the main butterflies are located is a bit hot, so we recommend coming in the morning or evening, or during the dry season if you come during the day.
Admission is free, although a brief registry with your name and phone number is required at the entrance. We must thank Thailand for providing this facility for free, where we can see many different species of butterflies every time we come.

Fee: Free of charge
Parking: No
You must park on the street at kamphaeng Phet 3Rd or park in the parking lot on the Chatuchak Park side and come on foot. (Depending on where you park, it is about a 10-15 minute walk via the main gate.
*Attention! If you park on the street on Saturday or Sunday, parking is not allowed in the zone with the red and white zebra on the sidewalk. If you park there, you will have to pay a high entrance fee to the Thai police!
Other: There is a section displaying eggs, larvae, and pupae, but the display should be more visible or appealing. I think it is a waste to display something so valuable.

Came here on a free afternoon we had before we left for our flight the following morning. The place is great, its free to get in, all you need do is sign in a book, and you can spend as much time as you want there. There's a museum style part of the building you walk through before you reach the outdoor enclosure, which is quite large and filled with an abundance of butterflies and bees. The place is well maintained as staff are consistently watering the plants and giving it a general clean. Was truly a nice place to spend an hour or so in the afternoon.

This is a wonderful resource and gets 5 stars for being free, you just register your name. A beautifully air-conditioned corridor, with information boards on the different butterflies, leads to the main enclosure. A nice waterfall and stream runs through the enclosure which is populated with flowering plants for the butterflies to feed on.

Amazing place to introduce the kids to most amazing and beautiful living creatures of nature. Easy to spend few hours exploring the beauty of nature, get amazed and photograph them. The butterflies can get real close! So many of them and so many sizes, colours and verities. I got a pic to such close up and clarity that I surprised myself. I could see the butterfly proboscis which was folded spirally, that wasn't even visible with naked eyes. Then there were butterflies resembling leaves with perfect camouflage. One of the butterflies was so huge, measuring around 20cm. I could take close photo while it stayed still. Needed to take photo with a pen for reference so that the folks back home would believe it.
There is a small insectarium where we can know various phases on life of butterflies and see preserved samples of many types.
It got bit hot and humid due the the conditions for butterflies to flourish and needed to be hydrated often. Overall it is a great place to visit, learn and enjoy the beauty.

Cycling round rotfai park is one of my favourite bkk days out. And stopping at the butterfly garden is a must. Its free and includes a fairly unspectacular display but then a small enclosure with beautiful orchids and other plants which are home to myriad beautiful butterflies. Well worth a brief stop.

Great place to chill. A hidden gem, bring a bottle of water and your camera. I spied at least 7 separate species, you have to be patient, there are a few in there as big as birds. When you get tired of chasing butterflies, go stand in the AC inside. A nice, no cost thing to do. For more pics, visit my Instagram, wildalaskaken_official

Free entry. A/C display area about butterflies, mostly in Thai. Caterpillars. Large area for hatched butterflies to fly in with ponds and waterfall. Recommend.
