This was a trip of a lifetime and a great honor to enter this cave with so much intrigue and world interest. This to me is a sacred site where the world came together to rescue 13 boys trapped in it's deepest depths.
Reserve ahead of your visit if you want to go deep on a guided entry. Safety gear is required some of which the park guides provide. They provide a helmet with headlamp. Knee pads, elbow pads, wrist protection, gloves and hiking boots are your responsibility to bring. You will get dirty. There are several places where you need to be in good shape to climb and pull your body weight up slippery rocks with the existing rope on each slope.
Presently, the reserved guided tour goes 1/2 mile to chamber three. This was the main staging area for the rescue. Without a reservation, you can only go about 1/3 the guided distance.
There is a one hour briefing in one of the park buildings. It is conducted all in Thai.
This is again, a trip of a lifetime. Be sure to go in the dry season. The cave is closed for 4-5 months during the rainy season as the cave literally fills with water!

Such an interesting story here where the 13 soccer/football boys and their coach that got trapped here. I did the tour to caverns 2 & 3 which was 1500THB and it was totally worth it.

Firstly you can only do this your in the dry season and you have to apply in advance. If you do this extended tour into the cave you would want to be quite fit to do it because some of the rocks are slippery and you need to use your upper body to sta slide yourself as you go through the cave.

The tour it’s self is great! You start with a briefing in the control room where the emergency was managed. On the tour we had a guide who was a navy seal that was part of the rescue team as well as a army member who assisted. As you go through the cave they do a great job of explaining the cave, equipment and challenges they had doing the rescue.

You can only go in to chamber 3 (~800m) as going further to where the boys were (~2km) is very dangerous.

When we got to chamber 3 we turned our lights off to get an understand if what the boys experienced for 18 days of darkness.

I would definitely recommend doing this tour it’s really interesting and gives you a good appreciation for all the efforts of these heros.

Spectacular to see the cave in real which had attracted attention from entire world. It was mesmerizing to imagine the real show through the pictures, flow of execution and exploration provided. We visited this place in Jan 24 and they have improved accessibility to reach to chamber 1. Although they have made the access safe and convenient, one could easily imagine how difficult it would have been in real situation where rain was continuously raining, poor light, very low visibility etc. hats off to all people who helped to get those boys out safe. This place has been the most memorable place of our visit to ching rai.

The cave is about 3-4 kms away from car parking location. Once you park the car, get onto song thaew (2 row pick up) by paying 20 B for adults(children are free). This song thaew would take to cave location. From there get onto a tram, tram takes briefly 3-5 minutes to reach the cave. Cave closes at 4:30 pm. If you are planning to visit then be cautious about closing time.

I realised that it is a massive cave from inside with a smaller around 10 meters wide opening.
The cave was closed because of the river flow inside during my visit in October 2023.

Pros
1. Massive cave, it might be hard to comprehend from pictures
2. They have a free tram shuttle to carry the tourists to the cave.
3. It was 20 THB per person for the shared mini truck from car parking to tram boarding point.
4. There is a gallery to explain the events for saving the Thai children stuck inside the cave.
5. Some of the original equipment is left there.

Considerations
1. The cave might be closed in the rainy season or the rainy days.

Biggest cave I've seen so far. I had to pay no entry fee, I don't know if this was a mistake...
The surrounding mountains are gorgeous.

The only thing that could be improved is an English translation of all signs.

Very interesting to visit the cave where the rescue happened, I recommend watching the documentary about the rescue before visiting to truly appreciate the scale of what happened here.

You park in the initial car park and for 20 baht you get driven to the next site which is a few minutes away where you swap into a national park bus which takes you directly to the cave entrance (only a couple of minutes away). Others are complaining about the cost however I am more than happy to pay a small price to visit here to help support the local community!

You can go 200m into the cave, I would advise wearing trainers as it’s a little muddy/sandy inside the cave.

As others have said there is little information in English (this shouldn’t be expected in my opinion as we are in Thailand) so we just used Google translate to help us understand what was written 😊

Very interesting and pleasantly surprised. Although i havnt seen any of the movies or documentaries my family had and i had followed the news at the time so was interesting to see in person.
Was nice not to have to pay a national park entrance fee or any other 'farang' fee and quite surprised how far your actually allowed inside the cave.
Only thing i think could be improved is more information in english.

Went to see where the miracle rescue took place. Beautiful National Park. Also was able to pay respect to the Thai Navy Seal who died trying to rescue the Wild Boars. There is a staute of him here.

Worth a visit. very well made. You can only go to the first chamber at the moment, but I wouldn’t go further anyway, because it‘s too narrow

I was surprised by how organised it is. There are not much info online about the current situation of the cave so I will share it here. All the road signs are in Thai but it should be easy to find the right entrance if you ask the locals around. Even better if you pay a local taxi/tuk tuk driver to take you there. You can’t drive all the way up to the cave so you gotta park at the car park and take a songthaew for only 20 baht. Once you get the 20 baht ticket you are allowed to take the songthaew to come and go whenever you like. Very clean, organised.
There is a monument in honour of Saman Gunan and also some exhibitions with the equipment used during the rescue and some of the boys’ belongings. It’s really interesting to see and good signage everywhere. There are a few pictures of the operation around too.
The cave itself was closed because it’s rainy season so we could only see it from the entrance. Not a big deal, seeing it from the outside already gives you an idea of how brave those boys are to survive in such conditions!
