Wat Khanon Nang Yai Museum

There’s a performance at 10am on Saturday that is definitely worth seeing. The performance comprises of craftsmanship (stitching the characters), rehearsal and musical, traditional dancing, and storytelling. The complexity of all skills combined into a unique performance. The show is free of charge.

There’s also a museum with interactive AR showing each characters in motion.

Don't miss this place. Take a few minutes from Hin Khao Ngu park.It's so stunning the view in front of you. Unbelieveable. Recommended.

They have absolutely beautiful exhibits, i could stay much longer if it wasn't so stuffy in the afternoon. I wish there are description in English.

There is a good museum in Wat Kanon showing big cowhide shawdow play equipment.
In this temple area, there is a local small open air market.

Not curated but a very nice museum...

Historical building with traditional craft and spectacle. The head abbot keeps this hundreds year culture running include the grand shadow play, cotton weaving, shadow plays theatre, museum and monkey. Good place to spend some time and get away from Bangkok

There's no charge to enter the temple or the museum. This temple is located by the river. There's a flea market by the river where there are locals gathering and selling local products and food on the weekend.

Beautiful, traditional, natural. Would come back. No fees, but donations accepted. Dog friendly but beware of the off leash temple dogs and monkeys.

One suggestion is to put a glass panel over the artwork to preserve them better.

I was lucky enough to catch the 10am Saturday puppet performance. There was a market and tons of action going on at the temple. The museum of shadow puppets has many English descriptions. Totally worth a visit. 10/10 would take friends.

Not just a beautiful temple, but a true place of culture to preserve the Nang Yai (Grand Shadow Puppet) performance. A must visit in Ratchaburi province

Very good museum in Rachaburi. Worth to visit if you are around.

Highly recommend to "NANG YAI" museum then the show will start on Saturday or call before plan to visit. I love T-shirts souvenir, very unique and impressive.

Incredible collection of shadow puppets, and did a workshop creating a small Hanuman :)

Culture prevent center of Nang Yai.

An excellent showcase of an aspect of Thai culture I didn't know about before. I will try to learn about the Nang Yai performances and attend one, the photos of them looked wonderful!
