Wat Chantaram is not just one temple but a temple complex in Uthai Thani. The temple complex covers an area of 100 Rai (1600 Hectares) and contains more than 10 temples, and buildings like a monastery, schools, and office buildings. It is huge. The two most visited temples are the Glass Temple and the Golden Temple. I was amazed by the beauty and splendor of the Glass Temple and the Golden Temple.

The Glass Temple, or Wihan Kaew, is a stunning hall that is made entirely of glass and mirrors. The interior reflects the light and creates a dazzling effect. The walls and pillars are decorated with intricate patterns and images of angels, while the ceiling is adorned with chandeliers. The main attraction is the large golden Buddha statue that sits at the front of the hall, surrounded by glass columns. The Glass Temple is a masterpiece of design and craftsmanship, and it is a unique sight that I will never forget.

The entrance is free. Be aware of limited opening hours: 9:00 - 12:00 and 14:00 to 16:00. As a matter of fact: 5 hours a day.

A must see temple complex if you are visiting Uthai Thani. It actually spans many buildings in the area, so do browse around on Google maps. For example, The Golden Castle is nearby and a must-see as well - it is straight down the side road across from the temple entrance. You can get a truck to take you there from the front of Wat Chantaram. There is plenty of parking for cars here too. On the river side there is a pavilion where you can feed the fish and there must be thousands of them in the water. They also have a coffee/drinks shop on the premises with aircon.

a temple sits in a massive 100 Rai of land according to the Tuk Tuk driver who also served as our guide. Multiple serene spots to explore within the same compound! The area is not only clean and beautiful but also well-organized, providing a tranquil and hassle-free spiritual journey for all visitors. An absolutely rejuvenating escape from Bangkok enveloped in peace and spirituality.

Amazing - the spectacle once inside is mind blowing. Wat Tha Sung is a famous and beautiful temple in Uthai Thani. Developed and known when Phra Ratchamaha Weera Thawaro (Luang Por Hermit Black Monkey), a famous Thera monk. Many buildings have been built, distinguished by the glass viharn enshrined. Buddha Chinnarat model and the figure of Luang Por Hermit, the incorruptible black monkey, the Golden Castle, decorated with dazzling gold. Built with exquisite craftsmanship, the Golden Castle was built with brick and mortar construction. Decorated with Thai patterns, covered with gold leaf and attached to glass, used as a place of worship. Buddha images that relatives and nephews offer around the outside of the castle Use gold leaf to cover around the castle inside the castle to house various important items.

Visited after more than 20 years ago of last time.
All the building changed and add many news as times passed.
Stunning and beautyful as before given even more respectiveness to worship Luang Por Rue Si Ling Dum.
The temple is very large til you can’t walk to see around. They have a shuttle car to run around with a few coins, you can park and take the shuttle car.
Parking are also large enought for more than hundreds of car and buses.

Great experience to visit this well known temple. Located not far from the highway, it took about 20 mins. Worth to visit when you pass Uthaithani province. The glass pavilion was so beautiful and fantastic. The staffs were friendly and well organize.

This temple is the most stunningly magnificent I've ever seen. The architector and his team who designed and built this temple has my deepest admiration.

During my many visits to Thailand, I have visited many many magnificent temples or Wats and never runs short of seeing something majestically crafted be it an old or a new temple.

Having travelled for almost 2 days on road, I finally landed to a uniquely designed Buddhist temple in Nam Suem in the Mueang Uthai Thani district about 3½ hours drive from Bangkok called Wat Chantaram or better known as Wat Tha Sung an old temple that has been given a new lease of life to the present structure. I was using the Suphan Buri trunk road and along the way you can see a cluster of other Wats before arriving here.

This place is well known for the glass Vihara and the golden Castle. With the limited time we have, we quickly wondered around the images and artifacts to have a glimpse of this wonderful place of worship. With this opportunity, I would like to share my experiences of witnessing first hand account of such fine art of work on displayed. I want to invite fellow travellers to visit this serenely beautiful place. Admission is free but you can donate generously for a good cause. Visiting hours starts at 0900hrs in the morning till 1700hrs in the evening. Easily accessible by local transportation means. Dress decently when visiting, remember no short pants for women.

I was told beside worshipping Lord Buddha, they also pay homage to Luang Phor Reusi Ling Dam for restructuring this temple to the modern structure as it stands.

You may want to see something different from normal Buddhist temple, here glass decorative is part of the uniqueness of the temple. Words can't describe the actual feelings within you, physical appearance allows you to feel the vibrant atmosphere. You cannot put pen to paper the notion you have inside you, the surrounding vibes of this place will rejuvenate you inner feelings. I felt relieved after visiting this place and would like to stay longer for my coming visit. Till then best of luck and have a pleasant stay.

Splendid architecture specifically for those who love Thai temple. The area is gigantic, you can spend at least half a day to walk around the temple! Just 10 minutes drive from the city center. The glass hall is breath taking! You can feel the sanctity ambient inside. Don't forget to bring an umbrella! It will be hot for sure while strolling around!

Great temple and too large and huge to walk around during daylight you should be preparing for umbrellas and some covers. One place to the other need to a ride. It much better that way for youths and seniors citizens.

We can't explain more how magnificent of this temple. As you might see it was famous to visit and take some pictures as all design and stature were amazing and unseen.

Amazing and recommend

A must see. Very beautiful temple and meditation facility with 3 large halls and many area to see. No need for words just see the photoes. Also there is a cafe run by student where the profit goes towards temple renovation.

Tips avoid visits during 12 pm to 14 pm as the main hall will be closed for buddish ritual unless you are willing to spent 2 hours experiencing it.

If you do not have a transportation, there is a local tuk tuk for hire to travel around the facility.

All Thai temples are unique in some way. This massive complex is one of the better displays when viewed from the perspective of originality. I call it the Hall of Mirrors. A pleasant day trip outside of Bangkok, don't be overly concerned with opening and closing times as you'll have plenty to occupy yourself with all day if you so wish. Photographs show each individual tile and mirror is set by hand and every individual section is cleaned in the same way under the direction of working monks. There are several structures here and the quantity of photos I've provided are in no way a complete picture book.
