Market Café

Bumped into this restaurant while walking in the area. The pad Thai was good but I really loved their calamansi with salted plum cooler - that was worth the 5* alone! Found the prices pretty reasonable aswell (from a European perspective)

Good Thai food in a hotel restaurant with super luxury feel. Green curry is on point. Tom yum soup is light yet fresh and spicy. Ambience is quiet and elegant. Super good service from staffs too. We love this place.

Excellent place to have breakfast with a large open area, plenty of seating. The decor is both traditional and modern. Staffs are friendly.

The good selections are amazing - covering both western and local fare and great quality. Local fruits are abundant including a juicer machine. Besides normal self service buffet tables, there are several cooked to order stations - noodle, fresh juice, egg & omelet, crepes & french toast. Most buffet only has 1 or 2 stations. Great selection of pastries and cheese also.

UPDATE

Decided to fly back to Bangkok after 2 weeks and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Sukhumvit again.

This time around, we tried the michelin star rated thai dinner at Market Café.

As expected, the dinner was awesome! We were served the perfect mix of cuisines with explosion of flavors that represent thai cuisine and spices toned down slightly to cater to our palate.

a wonderful dinner! We did a large (30) group set menu, and it was fabulous! service was wonderful and every course was delicious! Ok liquor selection- was out of a few things. Staff is very organized and welcoming.

Market Cafe is the main restaurant at Hyatt Regency Sukumvit Bangkok. As opposed to other hotels were you will be served an international menu, this place focus mainly on Thai food.

For lunch and dinner, there are buffet ala carte style in which you can order a variety of Thai dishes and a few western dishes (pasta). We had the lunch buffet and we enjoyed the meal. The dishes for the buffet were freshly prepared and were served in small portions which is great if you have a small party. A huge emphasis is placed on prawns, and there are many dishes that feature the protein. For the normal buffet, you will be limited to 4 grilled river prawns, but there is an optional extra if you want unlimited prawns. The overall taste was good. The dessert selection is small though, which is a slight let down.

For dinner service, there is an additinoal option of trying the set menu that is curated by Khao, a famous Thai restaurant (1 star michelin distinction). There are a few different sets that you can try, in which you would be served a wide variety of dishes in a sharing fashion. We had this also, and we did enjoy the set menu.

Overall experience was very good. Enjoyed the freshly made Thai styled food than I initially thought I would and was a better experience than many other international buffet in town based on my experience. The standout dish was the padthai with river prawn which was a well rounded dish.

On the con side, drinks are not included, and the price may be a little high for many. Service may be a little slow, but that is acceptable considering everything is made to order.

Highly recommended for those whoay looking for a different type of buffet to try and not afraid to go with Thai food.

It was so awesome 👌 everything cooked nicely. We found that there were some small portions, but you can try various choices of food instead.

This restaurant is located in Hyatt Re gency Sukhumvit. Nice atmosphere. Very good staffs.

All you can eat river prawn is worth.
There are a lot of choice.

Tasty is suitable for foreigner.

Just tried the breakfast again and it's really great. It's like someone read my review and fixed everything lol. They moved the juice bar next to the other foods and the freshly baked croissants are very nice! Upping it to 5 stars now.

Had the breakfast buffet here. I liked the decor of the place its bright and have a decent view. The lay out of the buffet is a little bit confusing at first. They have the juice/yougert section hidden around a corner. The food was ok, I liked the omelette station. At the waffle/pancake station you have to wait like 3-5 mins for them to make it for you...I get the wait at the omelette station because you can personalize what you want...but for pancakes they can churn out a bunch easily ahead of time. Lastly the pastry section was a bit disappointing, you can tell they are not baked in-house but ordered from somewhere and just so so.

It was great for both food and service! We chose a late lunch and it was nice and quiet. The lady manager was attentive and very pleasant, we had a lovely time.

Impeccable service, food and atmosphere at this restaurant in Hyatt. Special shout-out to Mali and Gift as their services are top notch and patiently served us and attend to us in our every needs.

The food was fantastic; we particularly relished the grilled river prawn. What's impressive about their buffet is that you don't need to approach the buffet table; instead, they inquire about your preferences and serve you generous portions. The service was impeccable!

Great food, friendly service, and upscale venue with surprisingly affordable prices.

Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Pad thai with prawns was very nice.

Market cafe had a very elegant feel to it whilst still remaining a casual dining affair. The staff were always on top of our queries and requests. Props to Mali, Pin, Bella and Pink. The food was excellent also, great for traditionalists.
