No Idea Cafe & Gastropub is a great place for wine. Maybe the best around Sukhumvit. I used to be a regular when I lived in Sukhumvit and they were still in Soi 20. To be honest, I liked the old place a bit more. It was a bit more casual. The new place feels much fancier. Although they haven’t changed the prices as far as I can tell.

The menu has a lot of European classics. Mostly French I would say. But I can’t put a label on it. Everything I ate so far was very good. And the wine selection is outstanding.

Great food and attentive service

I came here twice, over the last three evenings
The first time ever on Sunday, I came alone, but ran into a friend. And last night I was here with a date.
Both times the food and service was very good
I must say Sunday night was more enjoyable experience because of the table I was at.
I sat at one of the cushion seats against the wall, facing out in the main upstairs bar area
Last night they originally put us away in the back of the downstairs area against the wall… Which would be fine if you want, quiet, private, and secluded… But we were hoping for a little more liveliness . After a wait, they said a table would be available upstairs so we did move, but that was not a very comfortable place, as it was in the center of the room with lots of movement all around us and their air-conditioning blowing directly on us.. so if making a reservation, I would avoid table seven
Both evenings the food was very good and so was the service.
I had the lamb shank on Sunday, which I would definitely recommend. Last night I had the braised beef, which was excellent.
My date had salmon, which was poached, I believe… But as requested, she asked them to spice it up… And they did. She was very happy with the result.
They seem to have an extensive wine list, lots of whiskeys and gins… And a good range of cocktails for you to enjoy
I would recommend this very nice nice place, which is on relatively quiet soi 18
Just don’t get stuck at the wrong table…

Difficult to be any better than this restaurant.
We had chorizo for starters, lamb shank dinner and iberico pork cuts for dessert. Along with wine and cognac. Everything was perfect!

They have one whole leg of iberico pork they use for cold cuts. Very fresh and tastefully.

The staff is very professional. No waiting for anything.

Was searching for somewhere to eat on our last night and came across whilst walking home

Definitely will be back on our future trips I really could not find anything wrong with the place amazing service and food in an awesome setting.

I used to go to No Idea on Soi 22 and so happy I found that it’s back on Soi 18. I would say the food is even better than before and it was good then too. I had Greek Salad, Tarragon Chicken Breast and French fries paired with a Cabernet Franc! Everything was 💯🙌🙌🙌

I wish we would have found this place sooner during our visit! I devoured the beef short rib, apple/raspberry crumble and a couple of beers! Super friendly people with just amazing, mouth watering food. Highly recommend and will visit next time I’m in Bangkok!

Great range of wines by the glass (not to mention the whiskies). Friendly service. Pricey food.

Of all the great restaurants in BKK, No Idea is right at the top. Easy Michelin star quality. No need to think, just book a table right now.

One of the few places, which could pull off a location move and remain top notch. Beef cheeks are sublime, service great and wine selection is excellent.

No Idea Cafe & Gastropub is a stellar spot for fresh seafood, wine and charcuterie. The selection of fine cheeses are astounding, check the case for imported goat, cow, sheep or oat milk cheese. The No Idea menu board is such a great way to interact with staff.. The scallops and oysters are on point. So fresh and outstanding. Duck leg and charcoal grilled steak were perfect temperature and roasted to melt in your mouth. Wines are above average price for imports, great deals in New Zealand and Australian vino. Highly recommend No Idea Cafe for family or date night as the cozy atmosphere is welcoming for all.

I don't know how this talented husband and wife team manage to do it but every time I come here the food and the service is impeccable and all at an amazing price. The new restaurant has a wonderful ambiance and is in a great location. They are just consistently great at what they do night in and night out. The No Idea Cafe should be one of your first choices for a great meal in Bangkok.

This place is a gem. Came in and didn’t expect much but were surprised by their full range of menu and wine list! Most dishes are cooked perfectly and portion size is massive. We went back twice in one month, and will frequent more.

The owner gives his heart into this restaurant, he is both wine and food lover/fan.

The atmosphere is good, the staff and service is great and the food is really good.

The chicken and the steaks are strongly recommended.

Came here on recommendation from a friend and it didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. Very extensive wine menu too! The steak was delicious and my mum had the salmon which she would highly recommend.

Dinner from last night was so amazing. My NZ partner said that i feel like i back to home. The shop quiet warm with nice staff and good service, clean and good feeling. The prices is not bad. For me, i think is not too expensive for western food. Eveything all good😀

Back to No Idea for tonight's dinner. Can never fault the quality of the food, ambience, service or prices here. Always a warm welcome from the owner and staff, one of my long time favourites in Bangkok. Even saved room for the cheese this time 👍😜

Really good food and atmosphere. Extremely friendly staff with the owner also doing the rounds to say hello. Maybe the staff are a little bit too well trained. Kept trying to take my beer bottle away. I must be a slower drinker than most customers.
