Soul Food Mahanakorn

We visited on a weekend afternoon (they only serve lunch on the weekend) which I understand is much less crowded than their evening service. Food is amazing. Although the fried chicken is the most photogenic, the winners for us is definitely the banana flowers and fried egg and the eggplant salad with their homemade bacon and duck eggs. It's an explosion of flavor. The Thai milk tea inspired whisky sour cocktail was also a delight. Mind you these aren't even their signature dishes...can only fathom how delicious those are. That said the menu doesn't have photos, but they're all in English and the staff are very helpful and will show you photos of the food on a tablet (which they did for two Korean diners who didn't really read English well). Top knotch service.

Excellent thai style dishes and very good service. Ribs and Smokey eggplant were the highlight of the dinner. Reservation highly recommended. Don't recommend the classic cocktails.

Cozy little restaurant (best to make a reservation/ fine if you don't mind a bar seat) adding a little twist to traditional thai food. While not the cheapest, it was reasonably priced (most dishes are around 200-300 THB). In order of what I found most delicious: crab meat fried rice (you could taste the wok hei), grilled eggplant with home-cured bacon and duck egg with the softest yolk, steamed sea bass in banana leaf, and Tom Yum Goong. Those + a bottle of beer and water set me back at 1,601 THB including tax. Great place for a night out.

Great little gem. Tasty food in a simple environment served by very friendly staff. Couldn't ask for more, prices are reasonable and some of the dishes were delicious, notably the fish call and mango salad starter! Thoroughly recommended

Best meal I’ve had on this trip to Bangkok. Excellent service and food. Best to make a reservation especially on weekends. Order the pomelo salad and red curry with smoked duck.

Good food, a bit trendy. But has a new twist on traditional Thai food. Not for everyone, but worth a try if you want to try something different from street food.

Food at this restaurant is pretty good. Thai food with a twist of modern touch. The grilled prawns were fresh and juicy, the curry crab and rice noodles was tasty, and the fish steam in banana leave was very special. Good experience, service is ok but prices are high.

Excellent thai food. Highly recommend stir-fried thai flower, tom yang kung, and fried sea-bass with sauce. Company loved pork neck. GREAT

This will not be your usual run of the mill Thai food experience as Soul Food Makhanakorn provides a culinary twist to traditional Thai dishes. The ambience is a cool mix of hip and rustic with funky jazz playing in the background. The servers are knowledgeable and extremely willing to help out with any questions you might have. As for the food? Delicious. The Yam Makrua Yao is an eggplant dish that provides a blast of char followed with bright sours and savory duck eggs to cleanse and even out the pallet. Definitely try out the Australian skirt steak as it's cooked perfectly with some experimental Thai flavors.

Last but not least, the cocktails. You won't be disappointed. Thai-ditional flavors to fill your mouth with something familiar but still new and refreshing.

My wife loves that they used metal reusable straws for the drinks. Providing sustainability one straw at a time.

I just searched this place on Google but apparently, it was a famous restaurant. Great food, friendly staff. The price is mostly between 200-400B. Keep in mind, they charge 10% service fee and 7% tax afterwards.

Been coming here for years. Had it again last week after almost a year and everything was exactly the same. Consistency is super important and they nail it every time. Amazing banana flower fritters. Amazing lamb samosa. Epic krapao. Epic ribs. Sublime pork cheek curry. The wings are to die for. Service attentive and friendly without being annoying. Superb place i have recommended to probably 50 ppl in the past years. Love it. And now that i'm living in Bangkok i'll be back regularly. All that and a great cocktail list too!

Great Thai restaurants offering traditional Thai style recipes with a touch of modern cuisine. It is really toned for the local taste. Love it!

Wow, what a great place!! Wonderful choice of food. I had a mango smoothie bowl which was amazing! And I can not wait to go back for more food!!!

Somtum was amazing here. Samosas were great.
Tip here is, have a reservation before visiting. They are usually packed around 6-8pm.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Bangkok!! They not only have some of the best food I have ever eaten, the bartender is one of the best in the world!!!! This place is top shelf!!!
