Wat Bang Kung

It was a very unique, quaint and serene temple with the golden Buddha inside and amazingly the whole temple is covered by the roots and branches of 200 year old trees! Oddly too that the windows and doors are not obstructed by them. You do have to take off your shoes before entering the Temple, and they do have several shoe racks to place them on, and seating when you are done. donations will help a lot. Once inside you can pray or go up and around the Golden Buddha, I've seen some paper bills being left at the back of the Buddha too, maybe as offering/donation. The guide at the door said no photos inside, but you can take yours in front of the temple doorway. Within the courtyard is another temple, this time surrounded by Mua Thai statues.

We take a boat from Amphawa floating market. Around 400 baht for one boat, 4 person. 15min to cross the river and reached the opposite side. Here are a lot of animals can see before heading to the temple. Very small ereas but OK to enjoy.

The temple were excellent for local and tourist.

Location were interesting for us including local too as per the Bayan tree 🌳 leaf were around the church.

Just getting in attraction due to one of a winner of lucky draw loterry bought here. Thus, so nany people visiting to worship and hope for the same luck.
Unbeleivable very long queue to wait for making a worship to the old buddha statue in the old chappel which covered by many trees there.
Parking are available around the temple and can be park up to 200 cars.

It is one of the most extraordinary temples that I have ever visited before.
It is a small rectangular-shaped temple where the outer structure is covered by root of trees around the temple.
The main point of offering prayer is the golden Buddha Statue inside the temple. This temple is popular and sacred, so there was large crowd of locals as well as tourists.
If you all visit this province, this is one of the temples you all should never miss it at all. For me, it was worth visiting such a spiritual temple.

Centuries old temple shrouded in the Roots of a Banyan tree. A sacred temple to Thai people and quite unique. All of the statues including the main buddha are adorned with gold leaf. Located about 6km from Amphawa and worth a visit if you are in the area.

We were amazing to read the story behind the temple...also the story of the princess , for whom a separate place has been given behind the temple...
She is an angel! We would have read about angels in stories only...but she is a living angel !
What ever you wish for will be surely granted....is what the belief is all about!

Beautiful old Temple in Ampahwa area of Thailand. Beautiful River. Floating market and docks. Lots of good food and drinks. If you want a floating worth going to. This is the place to go.

As close as you will get to the similar temple experiences you might find in Siem Reap, Cambodia. A temple covered in tree vines, with a gold leaf Buddha inside, which is of high importance to Thai culture. The surrounding area offers you other past-times as well, and there is an area just down the road where you can feed horses/sheep
