This tour was the absolute highlight of our trip to Northern Thailand! Dam delivers what he promises - good food, bad jokes and a challenging trekking experience.
We did the 2 day hike and Dam shows true knowledge in the history of the area, the people, and how to source food and animals in the thick of the bush and jungle.

If you’re not one for steep and narrow climbs, this isn’t the trek for you. There were times that were quite challenging, but Dam is patient and will help to guide you through spots you find difficult.
Some reviews say he doesn’t listen and walks away, but he explained from the start that he has a hard time hearing well, so it’s not from being rude in any way!

Staying at the village with a Karen tribe was such an enlightening experience. They are so generous and excited to meet travellers.
If you’re a light sleeper, I recommend you bring earplugs because the roosters start at about 4am.

Main tips:
- Have good hiking shoes/boots. I had runners and slipped a fair bit. Goretex would be great as you cross over some streams.
- Have good bug spray for leeches!
- Be open to a challenging hike, but be rewarded with the best views!

Words can not describe how much I loved this experience.
Dam is a knowledgable guide, he doesn't try to take you to pet elephants or take pictures of long neck tribe women. He takes you on a raw, real, beautiful, interesting trek. He doesn't try to make it easy for you, so it is challenging but to me that was how I wanted to experience Thailand's nature- how it really is, no sugarcoating.
Dam knows everything and his English is excellent, I felt like I was hiking with a fellow backpacker.
The views are amazing, the jungle is alive and the village people love Dam! It's really moving to see. Just go.

We had an Incredible experience trekking through beautiful mountains and lush forests in Mae Hong Son. Dam is a fantastic guide, he’s really knowledgeable about the different wildlife and plants and taught us so much bout how local people thrive in such remote conditions. He made lots of funny jokes and also showed us his amazing skills with machete and bamboo! It was a challenging hike (37km including steep mountain cliffs that can be slippy and many river crossings). I would only recommend people do the hike if they have experience with trekking and good shoes with grip. It was good to do the trek in dry season when the river was low. We will remember this trek forever and it was the highlight of our trip!

Me and my girlfriend did a 3 day trekking with Mr. Dam. Words cannot describe how extraordinary this adventure was.

The first day he took us onto an old “path” trough the jungle the Karen tribe used 15 years ago. Very difficult and slippery, but worth the views! We stayed in the Karen village. He knows all the locals and will teach you a lot about Karen culture, Thai culture and living in the jungle.

The second night we slept in a bamboo house in the jungle. We ate fresh fruit and vegetables from the jungle. All cooked and prepared using nothing but bamboo from the jungle as well. The food he cooks is delicious.

The trekking was very authentic and not a ‘tourist trekking tour’. Most of the time you cannot see any path and wonder how he can navigate trough the jungle. We haven’t seen a single tourist in 3 days.

However, the tour is hard, dangerous and definately not easy! I’m an triathlete and trail runner and still the original plan was changed after the first day because we did not feel safe. When he says the path is “difficult” or “very difficult”, be prepared! BRING GOOD TREKKING SHOES!! If you don’t like adventure and are not willing to take some risk, you will not enjoy this. He knows different paths with different diffculties, so I recommend talking this trough before the start of your trekking.

Mr. Dam is funny, professional, knowledgable and he will teach you a lot. If you like adventure, I cannot recommend this trekking enough. You will remember it for the rest of your life!!

Dam is a very knowledgeable guide, nice and very funny. He has been very patient, knows the jungle very well and has plenty stories to tell. The food was amazing, a lot to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner and prepared in front of you with bamboo in a traditional way. It was a great experience, very good to get out of your comfort zone and learn new things about Thailand.

Dam is a very friendly person, but overall he is a real professional. We did a 2 days trek in the jungle, and we learned a lot about the local people living in the villages and about the fauna and the flora.
The meals, all made by Dam and his team were absolutely delicious and in big quantities.
The trek was not that hard, but you need to like adventures because walking in the jungle is not always easy and you will cross the rivers many times!!
We had a really great time, I highly recommend!

We had 3 days trekking (1 night in a village, 1 night in the jungle). Definitely it was one of the most striking experience we had in Thailand !

We discovered a lot of scenic views, very different each day. With our local guide, we learnt how to survive in the jungle (catching black worms, jungle mice, etc).
But don’t worry, Mr Dam and his team will make everything easier for you. The food in the village and the jungle were actually the best food we had in Thailand.
Mr Dam advertise you’ll get bad jokes, bad sleep... and I can confirm it, but it worth it !!!

Moreover Mr Dam and his wife took really care of us by offering shower after the trek and arranging our next trip to Chiang Mai.

I definitely recommend it !

We had a great experience with Dam. He is really funny and professional. He has a great knowledge about the jungle and how to survive, about the local tribe around mae hong son... We had a 3 days trek with him. Slept on a very untouristic Karen village and had a night in the jungle in a camp he did himself. We have learnt many things and had a really great time with him. The trek is not hard but he does it the thai way, might be a bit dirty, uncomfortable sometimes, but you really enjoy at the end.

I highly recommend to have an expedition with him.

Experience d’une journée de trek pas comme les autres !

Des bâtons de rando fabriqués sur le chemin, à la découverte et compréhension des arbres, fleurs, piégés à animaux, à la grimpade de nombreuses montagnes à fort dénivelé, à la traversée de village d’indigènes … dingue nous avons adoré !

Une immersion en pleine nature un peu plus chère que la moyenne mais qui vaut largement le détour ! Le lunch est compris et Dam est un super cuisiner, spécialement pour les sticky rice!!!

Nous recommandons vivement cette aventure avec Dam pour les routards comme nous qui ont un peu d’expérience en trek parce que assez physique (Dam a un bon rythme) et qui n’ont pas peur de traverser des montagnes et des montagnes !
En bonus: un bon 2nd degrés est un plus pour arriver à suivre les blagues délirantes de Dam.

Trek de 3 jours avec Dam, son affiche résume bien le trek, mauvaises blagues, mauvaises nuits mais bon trek!
Dam est un personnage, il est super sympa et marrant, plein de connaissances sur sa région. Il répond à toutes vos questions et vous demande vos attentes avant de partir pour pouvoir y répondre, donc n'hésitez pas à lui en faire part.
On y mange vraiment très très bien et en très bonne quantité, Dam est un très bon cuisinier.

Je recommande pour une belle expérience et de beaux paysages !

Nous n'avons pas fait de Treck avec M. Dam, nous n'avions pas le temps, par contre nous cherchions un taxi pour aller à Chiang Mai, il nous a proposé un prix intéressant et, au lieu d'un trajet long et pénible, nous avons passé 5h à échanger sur divers sujets, nous faisant quasiment oublier les 762 virages et la route glissante.
Même si son humour n'est pas toujours des plus fins, M. Dam est un personnage très intéressant, loin des guides formatés qui ne font qu'un job de promène touristes.

Un guide pas comme les autres !

Contrairement aux avis négatifs, Dam a été très attentif et s’est assuré que tout se passe bien pendant les randos et pendant notre nuit au village Karen. On a eu le droit à toutes les explications qu’on voulait sur les tribus, la vie dans la jungle… On a pas eu le temps de faire les trek de trois jours avec une nuit dans la jungle mais avec les conseils de Dam on s’en sent maintenant capables tout seuls ;)

Les randos sont sportives mais pas de quoi s’inquiéter quand on a l’habitude de marcher un petit peu !

Beaucoup de bons moments, bonnes blagues, bons repas, on recommande à ceux qui veulent sortir un peu des treks classiques !

Super trek !
Le guide, Dam, connaît vraiment bien la forêt et les montagnes, mais aussi les habitants du village dans lequel il nous a emmenés dormir.
C’était un plaisir d’apprendre des informations sur la nature qui nous entoure en forêt, il vous fera découvrir d’où vient ce que vous mangez quasiment tous les jours en Thaïlande.
Dam veille à ce que vous suiviez le rythme tout au long de la randonnée et n’hésiteras pas à faire des pauses si besoin.
Un vrai plaisir d’avoir pu réaliser ce trek à ses côtés, un guide authentique et plein d’humour !!

Hemos pasado 3 días con Dan y ha sido nuestra mejor experiencia en Thailandia. Nos ha llevado a sitios que merecen mucho la pena y muchos de ellos no aparecen en ninguna guía o blog de viaje. Tanto el como su mujer se involucran para hacerte sentir como en casa. Lo recomiendo 100%.

On a fait un trek de deux nuits avec Dam en octobre 2022. Une nuit dans un village karen, une nuit dans la jungle en marchant environ 5h par jour. Malgré de belles découvertes et des souvenirs que nous garderons à vie nous ne recommandons pas ce trek.
Dam est une personne très peu diplomate et ne disposant d'aucune empathie. Nous nous sommes souvent sentis abandonnés, Dam étant plus habitué des lieux marchait vite et nous étions obligés de l'appeler pour lui demander de nous attendre. Lorsque nous avons douter du chemin qui devenait de plus en plus dangereux (escalade sur des roches mouillées, traversés de rivière à hauteur des épaules...) Dam n'a pas su nous rassurer et au contraire s'est énervé contre nous.
Bref, nous recommanderions Dam à des personnes voulant vivre une aventure sans aucune prise en compte de la sécurité ou du bien-être pendant ces jours.

Persona veramente sgradevole. Incoerenza totale! Ci siamo recati da lui per fare un trek di due giorni. Ci dice che se aspettavamo un giorno si erano già prenotate 2 persone e ci sarebbe costato meno. Gli diamo fiducia, riserviamo il trek e di conseguenza il nostro bus per Bangkok! Ci da appuntamento per il pomeriggio del giorno dopo per i dettagli prima della partenza. Noi per sicurezza ripassiamo la mattina. Tutto ok! Al pomeriggio ci dice tutto scontroso che si era sbagliato e che il trek era di 3g, per noi avendo già riservato il bus era impossibile. Impossibile di parlare con lui che già pensava ai prossimi clienti.

Persona davvero sgarbata, vi avviserà male cosa vi attende se decidete di fare un esperienza con lui. Cercando di essere divertente con battute poco spiritose e insultando h24 la monarchia(cosa punibile severamente in Tailandia).
Sará capace di insultarvi e di urlanti contro se non sarete sicuri di attraversare un fiume che ha una corrente capace di trasportarvi via.
Davvero un esperienza da sconsigliare.
