Morning Market (Talat Chao)

I have always enjoy visiting local markets to watch the activities and try their food, this is the way to experience the culture.

Amazing food tofu noodles I think its looks good and tasty

Recommended by the hotel manager at Boondee Guesthouse in Mae Hong Son (stay there!). Very large and bustling. We sat down for a breakfast of noodles made by a very nice lady. A couple came and sat next to us and they were so much fun! A great way for a tourist to get a peek into Thai lifestyle …

Good and fresh local food. Can get burmese-shan food too. Must try if you are in Mae Hongson

Love this market, clean and organized! Found some tapioca cake that I really like! The vegetables are so fresh and they have mohinga noodles.

Nice place to walk about and get local snacks. Need to speak Thai if not quite awkward to order food. But food looks really tasty!

Authentic market. Besides shopping, in the morning you can get a yellow pickup ride to Ban Rak Thai or Phasua waterfall. Just come before noon and ask drivers, usually they charge 100THB per 1 tourist.

Amazing market to visit. Get there early - 6.30 if you want the best chance of everything being open. You can get a delicious breakfast here, as well as lots of interesting local ingredients

I liked it! Very market-esque. Lots of locals buying things. One of the shops sold a rice cooker for approx 30 people. Very impressive! Like the Costco of rice cookers. Rice for days!

Fresh fruit, vendors help pick the best available. Knowing the Thai words for fruits is helpful but not necessary.

ได้กินข้าวถั่วอุ่นฝีมือไทใหญ่แท้ๆครั้งแรกอร่อยมาก กินในกรุงเทพแล้วไม่ดี ที่นี่อร่อยมาก

Marché aux fruits et légumes et quelques vêtements. Très agréable avec une grande variété de produits locaux, on trouve du thé des montagnes alentours. Mérite le détour. Il y a des songthaews qui partent d'ici notement pour rak thai.
