This is the massive elephant. And inside is so beautiful.
Notice: if you wear costume above the knee, you will have to wear Sarong (long skirt but easier to wear and take off)

We really loved it here. So much to see and everything was in first class condition from the statues and beautiful gardens. I used the audio headset which gave me a lot of the history of the brilliant man who created the museum (Mr. Lek Viriyaphan) We were amazed at all the beautiful treasure on display and the amazing three headed elephant. I strongly recommend a visit here. Please give yourself plenty of time to see everything 🙏

This place is amazing! You can spend an hour here or more. I got here on taxi. There is parking near by. There's lots of photos opportunity. You get to walk up to the huge 3 headed elephant. Just inside is amazing. Very colorful.

Amazing museum! Must visit in Bangkok.
Clean, quiet and not so crowded because of its location. You can find praying sites, majestic statues and a lovely garden with waterfalls, fish and turtles. Dozens of elephant statues and of course huge 3-headed elephant in the center and you can actually climb inside it! The museum itself is very beautiful. Souvenir shops and small restaurants are also available. Totally recommended to visit.
They also have shuttles to BTS every hour.

I visited this museum a few times already. Its always impressive and beautiful again. The whole museum and garden is very well maintained. I love to look on the details. For my Thai wife its a very holy place. All information are given in Thai and English language. Usually we spend about 1 1/2 hours there.

👍🏻 We went there on Friday afternoon (not too busy). It will take you around 1 hour to explore the indoor museum & open area park.
💡 Please dress properly, no sleeveless attires and above knee-length skirts or pants. Buying ticket on Klook or other online platforms is much cheaper than getting it from the official site!

Absolutely beautiful! It's about a 25 minute walk from the BTS terminal, so go early to beat the heat if you are using the BTS to get there. They offer free audio guides if you are interested, but we chose not to use it. Please remember to dress modest (or use a wrap or sarong offered for free use) and remove your shoes before entering out of respect. Take time to not only enjoy the inside, but all the beauty outside as well. Grab a bite to eat and/or drink at the Cafe afterwards.

This place was absolutely amazing.
They have an option to do some offering/prayer ceremonies with the different shrines within the bounds of the museum.

There is a little spot for food and drinks and tiny bit of souvenir before entering. Then more souvenirs upon exiting.

The statue is absolutely amazing and insanely large. If you love thailand and it's temples, this is a MUST stop.

Despite being far from the city centre it is a must visit when in Bangkok. The elephants are huge and the garden ia filled with beautiful sculptures. Inside the building three different yet impressive rooms. They have shuttle bus available for 20 baths to the nearest metro station.

This place is just fabulous, an absolutely inspiring visit. The whole concept and execution of one man's vision is extraordinary. My daughter and I stayed over two hours, every moment a delight. We went by taxi, two hours and 400 bht, comfortable but not necessary. The BTS, Phromphong line will take you there direct in 20 minutes, leaving a 5 minute tuk tuk ride from the station. 120bht for two persons. A must see when in Bangkok.

On our way there, I was SHOOKT when I saw an ENORMOUS elephant structure on the highway. When we got there, I WAS IN AWE LIKE HOW?! It was definitely a good experience. Inside the shrine, WOW. very very intricate and detailed design. I really love Thailand because of places like the Erawan Museum, like the attention to details and the dedication, and the rich culture. Definitely go visit.

This massive three headed elephant made of bronze is a private museum. It’s a structure built to showcase both Hindu and Buddhist presence in this part of the world. The inside of the museum is modeled after the Hindu representation of the universe. The lower two floors are located inside the pedestal while the top floor is located in the belly of the elephant.

The top floor represents the Travatimsa Heaven, On display are relics and statues of the Buddha from several eras such as Lopburi, Ayutthaya, Lanna and Rattanakosin.
There’s display of ceramic works from Europe and china too. This unique structure stands as a tourist hot spot and also worshiping place for believers.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Erawan Museum in Samut Prakan, Thailand, and it left me awe-inspired. At its heart stands a colossal three-headed elephant, a stunning bronze masterpiece that weighs a staggering 250 tons. The intricate details of this majestic creature make it a true symbol of artistic brilliance.

Ascending through the museum's three storeys is a voyage through time and culture. The lower floors, nestled within the elephant's pedestal, unveil a treasure trove of Chinese vases from the Ming and Qing dynasties, offering a glimpse into the rich history of the museum's creation through captivating photographs and placards.

Venturing upward, the second floor captivates with its collection of precious antiques and European pottery. A highlight is the presence of a statue of Guanyin, the Chinese Goddess with a thousand arms, adding a touch of mystique to the journey.

The climax of the experience awaits on the top floor, a representation of the Travatimsa Heaven. Here, amid the cosmic ambiance, relics and statues of the Buddha from different eras—Lopburi, Ayutthaya, Lanna, and Rattanakosin—whisper tales of ancient spirituality. The walls adorned with cosmic paintings transport visitors into the realms of Buddhist cosmology.

What sets Erawan Museum apart is not only its architectural marvel but also its connection to Lek Viriyapant, the visionary behind this masterpiece. His legacy, intertwined with Ancient Siam and the Sanctuary of Truth museums, echoes through the antiquities and religious artifacts that grace the exhibit.

In essence, Erawan Museum is not merely a collection of artifacts; it is a captivating odyssey that bridges the gap between art, history, and spirituality. Standing beneath the colossal elephant, surrounded by centuries-old relics, I felt a profound connection to the rich tapestry of human heritage. If you seek an immersive journey through time and culture, Erawan Museum is an absolute must-visit.
