Phu Chi Fa Base

Amazing views.⛰ come early in the morning (arrive by 5:45 and then trek up to the peak) so you get to see the sun rise and enjoy the spectacular view of the sea of fog over the valleys between the mountain peaks.

Around 7am the spectacle is pretty much over and everyone’s headed down. But it’s worth getting up early for.

Dress up warm, it gets chilly up here before sunrise. (Around 7 degrees Celsius when we were here early November)

This is the car park. From here on is 760m climb to the top.

The Unique Peak at Phi Chi Fa. Located at the Thai-Lao border. One of the best mountain view in Thailand. Best during winter months when you can see endless distance. Gets hazy in summer, but still good.

a short, scenic trek from the designated car park to be rewarded with an eagle eye's view of the famous cliff and borders of Thailand and Laos. Best attempted in the early morning for the dramatic cloud effect. Hot and dry season made the evening shots less stunning with presence of slight haze.

Really nice place in the mountains near the border to Laos. When you are visiting Chiang Rai it's not so far less than two hours to visit this place.

Amazing views after a steep climb of 780 meter to the hill top. Will take you about 15-20 min to walk up to the peak.

This is the parking and market area where you can leave your vehicle, and buy some snacks or souvenirs. 750 meters further up hill and you reach the top of Phu Chi Fa mountain.

4.5hrs drive from Chiangmai, but was worth the drive. Phu Chi Fa is the paradise to see sunset and sunrise! You are all above the clouds. It’s a 20mins walk from the parking lot, quite windy and cold so definitely wear warm clothes. I would recommend to hike up early and enjoy the stars and then sunrise! A lot of ppl will be seeking for the best ankle to shoot a photo. The view up here is breathtaking ⭐

Amazing view up there, need to walk up 700m hill just get ready for that in the morning. Few accommodations around the town.

Maverlous sunrise on the Sea of clouds at borderline of Thailand and Laos

Awesome place to see sunset. We drove 2.5 hours from Chiang Rai to catch it and would highly recommend. Stay nearby if you don't want to get up at 3am...

Very Steep road to ngao ngao water management, walk up toward a carpark view point and then head up a trail for few hundred mete. At the trail junction signpoat turn left to Phu Chi Fa viewpoint. Less crowded and has about the same view.
