We had lunch at Papaya Restaurant. Service was efficient and friendly, and the food was great with large portion sizes. The smoothies were a welcome relief on a very hot day.

I ordered a chicken Pad Thai and have to say it was really tasty and size of the portion was definitely above standard, so I had full tummy. However the staff didn't seem to be very, friendly, just they didn't care very much.

Definitely the best food that I tried, while in Ko Lanta! We were visiting this restaurant regularly, it was always the best choice. Prices are very reasonable, the food is incredible, and owners are very hospitable. I usually like to visit as many places as possible, but in this case, I really didn't mind to visit Papaya Restaurant almost every day during my stay :) Highly recommended.

This is probably the best Thai food I have ever eaten. The woman is simply wonderful and she will cook you delicious food. I think I ate here four or five times during my stay. Recommended both for the food, the juicy shakes and for the hospitality.

The food is very delicious! Had the prawn and vegetarian spring rolls and the tofu with tamarind sauce, it was outstanding!!

One of the best thai food in the island (maybe one of the best in Thailand). The lady chef and the husband are the nicest and cutest host we have come across with. Stayed in Lanta for 4 days and atleast 6 meals we had there. Very simple restaurant and really professional cooking and taste. They don't speak much English but enough to make your stomach satisfy. You don't miss grandma's food and affection while you are having a meal at this place. For sure it's bit underrated because of the presentation of the restaurant but you won't regret eating up here and would definitely come back. Pretty good portions. Once you pay your bill you get a banana as a vote of thanks for the visit. :)

Best food in Koh Lanta! All dishes we tried were very well seasoned and tasty . Owners are very kind and welcoming. Would recommend to everyone. 👍🏻

I've tried several meals, and all of them were delicious. I think it's one of the best restaurants on Ko Lanta. Prices are low, and the quality is great, offering authentic Thai food :) Also, there's a tofu/vegetable option for each meal.

My wife and I make it a point to eat here every day if only for some skewers and a shake. It's as much because of the delicious food as it is the friendly woman who runs the place. I can't speak her praises enough, so accommodating and she just radiates happiness. Our first visit we had Tom Yum soup and mango sticky rice. The soup was fantastic, and the mango sticky rice with coconut milk must be how vegans survive without ice cream because it felt like eating a delicious dessert. We stopped by today and had more BBQ'd chicken and she offered us a bottled sauce. I asked if it was spicy because I love spicy food. She quickly went to the kitchen and whipped up a spicy sauce (tasted like sesame oil, soy sauce, and spicy chili flakes). Pro tip: if you love spicy food, just point at yourself and smile and say 'ped mak mak' (it means 'really spicy'), because sometimes restaurants will tone down the spiciness for foreign palates, I'd say most restaurants do this. Anyway, I ordered a mango shake next, and when she came out with it, she gave the extra to my wife! Every time we come here (which is every day we've stayed in koh lanta) we are just blown away. Prices are low, service is outstanding, and the experience is amazing. Dont pass this place up.

Might sound a little strange but we just had the best papaya salad on the island so far at Papaya Restaurant :)) very nice lady and her husband, awesome cooking traditional dishes. Dont miss also the stir fry green curry noodles.

I have been there far too many times and it has been great each time. If you are staying in Koh Lanta, just take a moment to have a meal there.

Hands down the best cashew nut chicken, they fry the chicken so it’s very crispy and crunchy unlike other restaurants. I came back again because I liked it so much.

Really authentic experience. Small family restaurant combined with owner's living room.
We had fried green curry rice, pad thai with shrimps and mango shake and everything was delicious.

Service is not exactly welcoming, but who cares, because the food makes up for it. Proper Thai, not watered down for tourists.

Is tastes like real thai food ! I got the Chicken basil and it was delicious. And my coconut shake had real coconut flesh inside. It's cheap and the owners are really nice.
