Sonya Restaurant & Guesthouse

Highly recommend the restaurant for breakfast and coffee. They have lots of dishes with fresh avocado which are served with microgreens and/or salad. They made vegetarian gluten free Eggs Benedict for me by replacing the bread with salad and the ham with avocado. Their coffee is better than anywhere else we found in Thailand. We had breakfast here twice; did not stay in the guesthouse.

I went to the restaurant for breakfast and it was delicious! Had the egg avocado toast with pesto, the eggs were perfectly poached - also got the fruit platter and soooo tasty (and enormous)
It is a bit pricy compared to other places in Thailand but worth it
Also know that you’re gonna have to wait but just like most places in Thailand

Stopped in for a delicious breakfast. Recommend the avocado toast. Would've liked the inside of the omelette cooked a little more. Coffee was strong. Cute kitty too.

Sonya has been here long before the powers-that-be ruined the charm of Khlong Khong when they tore up the road and laid down a 4-lane superhighway with enough lights to make the streets seem like the inside of a bleary-eyed 3 AM trip to the 7-Eleven. The food has always been very good here (I'm sorry we wolfed down the spring rolls before a photo could be taken) but today's meal was more stunning than spotting a topless supermodel sunbathing on a quiet sunny beach and I can't wait until I'm hungry again.

If we had eaten here last night maybe my girlfriend wouldn't have gone hungry in protest of the sub-par pad thai she had at another local establishment on the beach (that fully redeems itself by serving the best beers on the island) and maybe my friend Alex wouldn't have indulged in as many of those beers as he did and spent the night in the local hospital after ramming his motorbike into a ditch in the road on the way home. We'll never know.

Beautiful friendly family run place. We booked 2 nights and ended up staying for 3 weeks. Awesome breakfasts at restaurant. We made this our base as it was close to the beach and nice restaurants. It just felt safe and friendly. The place was filled with people extending their stays. We looked around but there was nothing else which came close to the value for money here. We were travelling with a baby and it was great.

Modern, comfortable bungalows with quick access to the beach. The service is super helpful and the breakfast is amazing!

We weren’t staying at the hostel but we ate there and the food was really good! We totally recommend it! We got the garlic chicken & the kua gling gai; was so delicious!

In this restaurant We just try to breakfest two times. “Helo Glow” on the picture we really love. First visit was longer time to waiting, second OK.

We've been there several times for diner. Very tasty dishes!

This place is amazing! The food is fantastic, the coffee possibly the best I’ve had in Thailand, the bungalows were clean, comfy, and peaceful! I cannot say enough good things about the staff and quality of care, I will be back!

If you don‘t come to Sonya‘s you‘re definitly missing out!!! We come to Lanta every year and it‘s by far our favorit place! The food is absolutely amazing, the best on the island (we‘ve tried alot). Comming back always feels like home, the staff are awesome, shout out to the hole crew! As coffee junkies you can struggle to find a descent one in Thailand, but Sonya‘s can keep up with the best italien cappuccino, you have to try! If you enjoy a good western breakfast with a thai twist, you will love this place. Their signiture „hello glow“ poached eggs on avocado, pesto bread was by far our favorite pre beach meal. Don‘t get me started on their thai dishes, they are to die for! Long story short, we love everything about Sonya‘s and are sure you will too! See you next year♥!

Such a beautiful place!! Delicious breakfast, clean cozy rooms, great location very close to the beach and most importantly amazing and friendly staff always happy to help you with everything you need!!! We’ll be back one day for sure 😊

What a great place the Sonya Guesthouse is, and I can see easily why everyone else loves it as well. The place is so charming and authentic, it feels like your own little home. The food is absolutely phenomenal, don't pass it up. The people are lovely and the place is just great. The people were so generous and helped us with renting scooters, finding places to eat at night, and grabbing a bus for the airport. They took care of everything. The bungalows are clean and bug free, a.c. works great, beds are nice. There's a place to get your laundry done right next door and a 711 right down the street. There's spots to park your scooter in the back and i think staying here in Koh Lanta may have been my favorite part of the trip. Thank you so much for such a pleasant experience. We will definitely be returning.

An amazing establishment, very mellow vibes with tasty food, the price was great considering the quality of food that was served. Excellent customer service skills from the wonderful staff! Definitely returning.

Great place. Very clean and amazing food. All staff are extremely friendly and helpfull. There‘s a laundry right next door and you can also rent a scooter via the front desk. Highly recommended and best value for money. 😍

We stayed at Sonya Guesthouse in Mar 2017 and had an amazing time there. Staff is simply the sweetest, and very helpful, and the dorm room and private rooms are kept clean, all have a personal fan and so long as you have mask and earplugs,are very comfortable. You're a 3min walk to the Klong Khong beach from there, which is simply wonderful. The restaurant is fairly pricey but once you get the food prepared and brought to you by this awesome staff you'll understand why. Unisex bathrooms and restaurant-level shower are clean and well-maintained. I wish I could have stayed at/visited the bungalows which are right behind the restaurant and even closer to the beach. Anyway, nothing bad to say (I remember think that they compost AND recycle!), simply that I highly recommend it!!

A really nice restaurant that we have visited many times over the last 10 years. Really good breakfasts. Nice fruit. Porridge is great. Very good coffee.

Only ate here once but wished I came earlier. Really good food, biggest portions I had on the island for the same price elsewhere. Staff were friendly and the menu accommodating for changing veggie dishes vegan. Coffee, banana and cinnamon shake was divine. Definitely go here if you're after a nice meal ✌

Only went for breakfast and the scrambled eggs croissant was delicious
