Very comfortable stay in a lovely nature setting.

We contacted the lodge and they arranged our transportation from our condo in Hua Hin to the lodge. The lodge is beautiful, clean and peaceful with lots of beautiful birds and butterflies.

The lodge arranged Piak, our very knowledgeable guide and the perfect truck as transport to the fabulous National Park.

At the lodge, we enjoyed the challenging trek up to the Viewpoint on their trail.  The lodge also arranged our transport to Bangkok.  So everything was perfectly arranged and convenient for us.

We had two nights at the lodge, perfect for us, who are not birders.

I was at Baan Maka for 3 days. I visited the Kaeng Krachan National park, i visited the birds hides and i wondered around their on trails and gardens. I even had a private guide Games, who showed me all the birds around.
I am in love with this location and i already want to come back soon.
The bungalows are amazing, and cozy, big, have air conditioning, bathroom and toilet. All you need.
They have their own restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. So you dont need to leave to town at all.
They take care of everything. They think of all...
I love it!
I do recommend it!!!
I hope i get back soon <3

Excellent lodge, particularly aimed at birders. Friendly staff, nice meals. Particularly recommend the night walk for spotting owls (we saw 3 different species).

Perfect, peaceful, picturesque. Husband and I stayed at Baan Maka with some mammalwatching and birder friends. We’re total civilians when it comes to wildlife but we’re seasoned travelers and Baan Maka is exactly what you hope it will be. Comfy, clean, cool (AC available but we didnt need it in July) and casually heavenly. The grounds are secluded and stunning. The room was clean and simple—bathroom got us clean. The restaurant was delicious and hellllloooo imported beers…one too many London Prides were enjoyed by us. 🙃

Ian and Games were generous with their knowledge and time. Ian joined us for a few beers and laughs and all in all, our stay was delightful.

I forgot to take photos of the lodge but here are some from Kaeng Krachan Nat’l Park and the visitors we sighted. 🫶🏼 100% would stay again.

Comfortable clean rooms in beautiful grounds. Good, reasonably-priced food and a small library of bird and wildlife guidebooks. The hosts are friendly and knowledgeable. There are a couple of walking trails on the property, one with great views. The guided night walk we did was good too.
Getting here by public transport was easy as the lodge arranged a transfer from and to a convenient bus stop in Kaeng Krachan. Highly recommended

It's the only place that I always goes to for birding and macro photography because you can stay at the resort, walks their trail day and night, and the food is always available...I can't think of any places in Thailand that is nature/photographer friendly like this place.

I had an amazing holiday here. This place is wonder for those who love nature and need a quiet time for their holiday. The trail in the resort was fun and has beautiful viewpoints. There is also free kayaking in a 2 km long pond. The hiking and the kayaking was very fun. We intended to stay for 2 nights but booked an extra night because we were enjoying it so much. The staff are soooo nice and the food is delicious! I would recommend anyone who wants to immerse themselves in nature to stay there.

This is a must stay for any birder looking for a temporary home base. The folks that own and work a the lodge are friendly and very knowledgeable. We we welcomed with smiles and great food and a couple surprise owls during dinner. A collared Scops-owl and an Asian Barred Owlet. We stayed on the property for the next morning and made the rounds and found 42 species before breakfast.

Basic accommodation, but who needs more. Beautiful location, lots to see just in the lodge itself, and the perfect staging post for the national park. Very friendly and helpful staff. And the food is great.

A wonderful place to stay if you love nature and birds. Very reasonably priced and clean rooms, nothing fancy, but just enough. The people are very friendly and care for you when you are there and very helpful to make your time there great. They also grow almost all their vegetables and fruits.

Amazing place.

Staff: Very friendly
Nature: Great variety of plants, birds and insects. Perfect place for photographing rare species
Food: Organic (from their own farm) and delicious
Drink: Import and Thai beer, free coffee and tea for 24 hrs
Lodge: Very cosy and clean - no TV or fridge
What can you do?
You can go kayaking in the lake. They have their own small private mountain where you can find easy trekking and hiking trails. On top, there are three viewpoints where you can enjoy the fabulous scenery. They offer evening expeditions to see owls and other nocturnal animals. Also, they take you to Kaen Krachan National Park to the top of the mountain (945 m) to enjoy a sea of mist in the morning. You can also visit the dam, walk through the suspension bridge and enjoy the view on top. There are waterfalls in the area, too. It's basically a tropical paradise.

This well run and thoughtfully designed and cared for lodge is a gem. From rooms that make sense, to tasty food, a great sundown area, cool short hike and lovely staff, I’ll be returning. Also nice road and mountain biking to be had in the area. And I’m not a birder so you can still enjoy this spot.

If you visit Kaeng Krachan nationalpark (which you should, it is awesome), stay at Baan Maka! It is very close to the park, clean and the whole place is simply great! They have a nature trail around the resort and several viewpoints if you want to hike on your own. Also, there is a small lake and you can just take kayaks (free of charge). You will see so many animals like hornbills and squirrels! They also have delicious and very affordable food. Some of the food is homegrown! They will also help you organising everything like tours to the park and transfer to and from the lodge and the staff is so, so nice. We cannot recommend this place enough (if you love nature and the quiet). Just be aware that you are in nature so you will also see ants and mosquitos.

Lovely minimalistic place to stay in a stunning setting. Own trails, fresh garden, lotus lake and delicious cooking make it idyllic. Pricing of things like big water bottles also fair, which is important given the remote location

It's a place worth visiting if someone is traveling to Bangkok.. at least for 2 nights... the lodge is located inside the forest, very quiet, locally produced tasty food, hiking trails...

A group of us stayed this past month and it was absolutely excellent. The grounds were perfect for relaxing and playing games in the yard, the hikes and viewpoints were lovely, the kayaking was beautiful, the food was served in large portions and was delicious, the sunset walk was easy/the beers ice cold, and the staff was extremely helpful. Can't recommend them enough!

They have the trail you can take and lotus lake you can kayak in, walking to the lake in the morning makes me feel like snow white with all the birds and squirrels. The food is sooooo good and affordable, they grow some of the veggie themselves, bacon and sausage is also homemade, should not miss. I was obsessed. The staffs were very accommodating and nice :) especially the guy in the morning.

Awesome nature lodge with excellent staff and service. Restaurant is veg/vegan friendly. Lovely setting in a great location with only a short drive to Kaeng Krachan National Park.

Baan Maka has a great nature trail which, if one so chooses, can go up to the 3 viewpoints...Baan Maka, Aunty Eks & Kaeng Krachan. WARNING: The climb is quite steep, grueling and potentially hazardous. Glad I did it, but once is definitely enough.

Highly highly recommended for anyone keen on birds, or seeing the “safari” side of Thailand. Games is an excellent guide, and I thoroughly enjoyed 1.5 days with her in the park learning about Thailand’s birds - I could have spent longer, and definitely would like to try return for March or June birding!

Its excellent place to relax in mid of jungle. Good rooms. Car parking near rooms available. Rooms are elevated around 3 feet from floor. Good and cooperative staff. Tracking on 3# view points can do early morning. 3 acre farming also can visit. Have vicinity to lakeside which gives you good view for many birds watching possibilities. Good thai food available in restaurant. Vegetarian options also available just need to inform staff and they will get it done for you. If interested in boat rafting its available free of cost but not supervised by staff. I recommend to visit this place for relaxation.
