Olas Permanentes El Zonte

Based on the prices of surrounding hotels, this hotel is cheap! great value for being right on the beach. We could hear the ocean waves from our room. the room was hardly larger than the King Bed. AC worked like a dream. it was noisy with the kitchen and restaurant but we brought ear plugs.

We booked “twin room w shared bathroom”. It was the cheapest offered. The bed was two twins pushed together but they were very wide twin beds. the bathroom was a single toilet and shower with a lock so that only hotel guests (not restaurant guests) could access.

the swimming pool is the size of a hot tub (non heated). I would hardly call it a pool.

the best part is the hammocks on the second level of the restaurant.

Based on the cheap price I wasn’t sure what to expect. Actually everything great. AC works well, shared bathroom is maintained. Can be noisy especially the kitchen staff - I saw 10 people in there. They walk past the guest rooms to the restaurant all night loudly chatting.

The “pool” can fit 2 people only and no lounge chairs. but the hammocks on second level so comfy. The restaurant has good prices although weak pours.

Despite the weak points it’s good value

Affordable resort right on the ocean. Friendly people good service, excellent food. Keep in mind that this is a Hostel so no private bath.

Had an amazing experience at Olas Permanentes! Stayed for 2 nights. The room was fantastic, offering a perfect blend of comfort and style. Waking up to a delicious breakfast included in the stay was a delightful start to each day. The beachfront views were breathtaking, creating a serene and relaxing atmosphere. The friendly staff added to the overall charm of the place. Unlike a prior comment about dogs on here, they did not bother us nor did we hear them throughout the night. Really nice place to stay, is not the all inclusive hotel but it’s nice and cozy, the food is amazing and the staff too! Access to the beach and you can rent boards if you want to surf

Pet friendly, amazing staff, food is incredible, cooked under a wood oven, seafood pizza is something to try, clean, accommodations are top notch AC in the rooms with their own shower and the second level restaurant provides an amazing view, prices vary but are well worth it

Amazing place to enjoy food. Sea is literally in front of the restaurant, so you can take good pictures and have a great look to the landscape.

People are nice and make sure you get an unforgettable service. Be careful with waves!

Definitely recommend for those that want to be by the beach. It has a nice view of the ocean. Breakfast is included and DELICIOSO! Service in general is good as well. We were more than satisfied with our stay.

If you want a restaurant to eat or a place to stay near the beatch this could be one of the places to choose. Food was excellent, very quick staff although was full but be mindful. You could also go to the beach and enjoy the waves with a special drink.

Beautiful, clean and literally on the water with private beach front access. Hotel room includes breakfast at the restaurant in the morning. Free wifi. The food is great too!!

$Heads up: $15 minimum consumption per person. I've frequented it over the years and was surprised to get charged a fee but to everyone has their own way to do business. There is a good view from the second story thatched roof Palapa that when coupled with their tasty food and attentive staff, makes the $15 ticket seem easy to spend.

The best beach imo for non surfers in La Libertad area. Not much place to sun bathe but u can find little cliff like stairs to sit and relax. The sunset in gorgeous!

One of my favorite places to stay In El Zonte. Breakfast is good the people are amazing. Have stayed here 3 times in the last two months

Not loud, great views of very clean beach, and food really good. If you surf, they have good waves and wifi for customers
