Wonderful museum, that represents mining activities in High Tatras area. Mainly very rare an unknown mines on Kriváň mountain. The mine is almost 500m long, easy to access with perfect guides.

Great place. We found the reference on the internet and decided to visit. The mine isn't to long, the tour is about 45 minutes though. Wonderful for kids of all age. The shelter hut has been built just a few years ago, but looks like it's been there for ages. It's beautiful. The best highlight is the staff. Friendly and nice. If you haven't been there yet, it's time now 😁

Interesting experience. There is a guided tour once in an hour, you can't go in without a guide. The tour is in slovaki, but the guide has a basic English.
It is very cold inside and there is mud so choose shoes that you can get dirty.

Rcently visited and we got discounts on tickets for using local accommodation very welcoming gesture. Staff was very friendly with lots of knowledge. Also is dog friendly.

Google says stolna is open from 10 am, but it is open from 11 am. It is possible to go in with guide every hour, that means at 11 am, 12 am, 13 am and etc.

Path is only 500 m long, but it feels like you spend there several hours inside. Due to perfect guide, interesting tales and specific atmosphere it is must to visit place. Guide involves adults and especialy children, creates mysterious atmosphere and we even saw real bats :)

Wonderful experience in this old mine is awaiting. Guides are very kind and also funny to talk with. It's a public accessible mine shaft from 2 centuries ago used for gold mining. Perfect for children as they can try mining their own "gold" with old tools :D
Bring jackets as it is quite cold even in hottest days of summer.
One tour takes somewhere between 30-60 min depends on number of visitors.

Place to visit when in Žiar valley, especially with kids. Nice combination of fun and knowledge from guides.
