Botanical Garden UPJŠ

Beautiful and interesting botanical garden, it came unexpected but Kosice has a nice one. Affordable and loads to see, even few small animals like fish and insects. Lots of plants and varieties. Definitely recommended. However the staff was in his feelings.

We also went in late winter during the orchid show. We loved it. There are regular exhibitions in the botanical garden - flowers, butterflies, etc.

Beautiful green space! They have a very nice collection of plants and outside it's full of trees. We even saw some black squirrels, but they ran away too fast, so didn't get a chance to take a picture. Overall it was nice, peaceful and very cheap to visit.

Because of lovely weather on holiday I didn't want to go there. I prioritised lido rather than Botanical garden. But when I finally got there it really worth it to visit. It's such a beautiful garden and a day spent there was brilliant. Definitely I will come back again.

What a great place, not sure whether to call the largest botanical garden in Slovakia a "hidden gem" but this is a little hidden away if you are not aware of its existence.
Gardens are well presented and well looked after. There seems to be a number of projects taking place to open up the gardens more and introduce more informative aspects of horticulture to the visitor. Greenhouses are somewhat dated and the structures in need of some love, but the collections are very impressive. The University building will be undergoing some very much needed renovation over the next few years which will transform the look.
Entrance fee is very reasonable (a few € per person) so very good value for money. Take your lunch along if you want something to eat.
A very welcome contrast to the dominant architecture surroundings.

A great place to spends few hours a much smaller version of Kew gardens with a butterfly garden cost 3 euros to get in

Highly recommend if you love nature, for an all day program, you should not rush it. Workers were really kind and helpful, even got some tips! :)

A very nice place for a walk.

My favorite place to see tropical plants and variety of cactus and succulents since my childhood. Orchids as well.
Somewhat dated building and green house but gardens are pleasant and educational. Nice way to spend winter weekend day with kids.

Positives are low price, beautiful nature. You can see many plants that live in whole world. Thereby is also zoo of domestic animals such as chicken. You can sit down in parks and walking too. The biggest negative is that there are problem with parking. Parking zone is small and you only can park on the street before houses of other people.
