Shuhada Uhud Cemetery

It was the site of the second battle between the followers of  Mohammed SWS and the quraish.

The battle of ohud was fought on 19 March, 625 CE, between a force from the small Muslim community of Medina and a force from Mecca.

Its a very important ziyarat of Madina.

The Sayyed al-Shuhada Uhud Cemetery (مقبرة شهداء أحد), where the martyrs of battle of Uhud, which was a battle between the early Muslims and their Qurayshi Meccan enemies in 624 CE (3 Hj.), were buried. Prophet Muhammad and the Muslims buried the dead on the here in the battlefield, returning home that evening.🤍🤲🏻

This cemetery contains the bodies of 70 Shuhada' (martyrs) who were killed during the Battle of Uhud, the most notable being the uncle of our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, Hamzah ibn Abdul Mutalib رضي الله عنه. Located at the base of Uhud Mountain and it is one of the most famous Islamic shrines in Madinah. May Allah SWT be pleased with him and other honorable companions, ameen. Allahu Akbar!

A very nostalgic place to visit. U can feel the greatness of the battle of Uhud. Also of the martyrs buried there. Also boasts a lovely flea market with the best dates available at very good prices. I enjoyed the fresh dates on sale. A must see site for all hajees.

The Beloved Holy Prophet Muhammad Sallallāhu ‘alayhi wa Sallam put on his coat of arms and went for the Battle of Uhud in 3 A.H, 625 C.E with about 700 of his noble Sahāba (Companions) Rady Allāhu ‘Anhum against about 3000 better armed non-believers. In this battle, the Muslims received a set-back and about 70 Sahāba Rady Allāhu ‘Anhum were martyred. Even so, after this battle, Islām spread more and more, and far and wide. This shows that whether Muslims win a battle or receive a set-back, Islām always spreads as it is a universal religion for the whole of humanity till the end of time.

These then are the names of the Muslim martyrs of the Battle of Uhud in alphabetical order following the Arabic alphabet. Some of the letters do not occur because none of the martyrs had names beginning with those letters.

Sayed al-Shuhada (Medina)

Sayed al Shuhada (سيد الشهداء) is a small area in the Uhud Valley, where the second battle of Islam was faught betweent he Muslims from Medina and the Meccan forces. Today the area has a population of almost 15,000 and has several points of interest including Sayed al Shuhada Mosque and burials of Uhud Martyrs.

The area of ​​Uhud's Martyrs, known as the Sayed al-Shuhada is a small neighbourhood of Medina city, situated some 3.5 kilometers north of Masjid an-Nabawi. It was extensively renovated circa 2017/2018, with a new mosque, access roads, pilgrims interest points and services and administration areas. The area of ​​the site is 340 hectares, and the area contains the Martyrs Square, which includes Jabl al-Rumah, historic cemeteries, the mosque, a school, parking lots, the civil services building.

The area is named as Sayyid al-Shohada after the title of Hamzah ibn 'Abdul Muttalib, who was granted this title after his Shahadah during the battle of Uhud on 22 March 625 CE (3 Shawwal 3 hijri) when he was 59 (lunar) years old. Hamza was buried in the same grave as his nephew Abdullah ibn Jahsh. Muhammad later said, "I saw the angels washing Hamza because he was in Paradise on that day". Fatima bint Muhammad used to go to Hamza's grave and tend it.

Good place to visit and say dua for Shuhada-e-Uhud
Hazrat Muhammad’s (Sallalahu Alayehi Wasallam) beloved uncle Amir Hamza (Razi Allahu Anho) is also buried here.

But area needs proper cleanliness as people throw garbage everywhere.

Resting place of the Governor of Madinah Al Munawara. Due to the presence of SayyiduShuhadah and other Shuhda Ohud, the place is full of tranquility and peace. One may get lots of spiritual blessings while be there.

Alhamdulillah it with due grace of the Al-Mighty Allah Ta'ala that He the Most-Merciful reached us to this blessed place.

This is a very important and blessed grave. This is because many of the Sahabah e Kiraam were killed during the Battle if Uhud, and this place is where all of their blessed graves are.

75 Ansaris & 10 Muhajireen

Ghazwa uhud first fought in Islamic history . There were 70 campanions of Prophet Muhammad SAW died in this place.. and hazrat Hamza radi Allah grave is also at this place..

The Battle of Uhud was fought on Saturday, 23 March 625 AD (7 Shawwal, 3 AH) in the valley north of Mount Uhud. 69 (65 Ansār, 4 Muhājirīn) Muslims were killed during the battle which included the dear uncle of Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) Hazrat Ḥamzah ibn Abd al-Muṭṭalib.
