Tried this restaurant tonight for the first time with my girlfriend and we both loved it. It's positioned right by the Danube and it has a wonderful view. They have smoking and non-smoking areas. Wonderful food, very good atmosphere and the waiter was kind and professional. Having dinner with my girlfriend by the wagon made it so much more romantic. Keep it up!

Absolutely fantastic! The whole ambient, the look on the Danube river, all train look inside of the restaurant. They even have a one regular train wagon inside! Amazing. Food? Well, i cant breath. Im shocked. I know about this place for a 10+ years. But dummy me, never got here to eat. Who ever wants traditional serbian food with amazing view and ambient, come and visit Balkan Ekspres.

Amazing food, excellent service and the view is great. Food portions are slightly bigger than expected, so plan your meal carefully if you wish to try desserts.

It was enjoyable to eat quietly while watching the Tuna River. We ordered margarita pizza and cevapcici. Both were generous portions and delicious. The dough texture of the pizza was very good. Cevapcici came with fries, onions and kaimak. I think gobit bread or a thin bread such as lavash would have been more suitable instead of potatoes.

Nice place at the brink of Donau/Danube. Had the Zemun Pan mix, which is a nice toss of grilled meat on top of potatoes and onions. It easily feed 2 (or more) persons

If you order Zemun Pan mix, you do not have much room for salad 🥹😊

Excellent view of the Danube and faraway. Fine food and a great service. Parking is available in the area of the object. Good service and excellent choice of liquors and vines. Place where you can enjoy with friends and family.

Service in this place was EXCEPTIONAL!
This has to be the kindest and politest stuff personnel that I've ever encountered!
At first, we were charmed with the place itself - we were sitting in an old, restaurated train wagon that, paired with jazz and bossanova music, gave us some nostalgic vibes.
Than the server came with the biggest smile and positivity, we took an order for two veal soups and one small pizza Quattro Stagioni.
Soup was awesome, it warmed us, and brought back our energy from the cold day.
And now the most amazing part: PIZZA DOUGH!
I swear to you, this has to be the best prepared pizza dough that I ever had to chance to taste! (I'm a bit ashamed to admit, but I really often eat pizza and this has to be one of the best I ever tasted)
Our Quattro Stagioni had a small twist - a pice with a chicken breasts on, that was fun and different.
Overall, we were beyond satisfied and we will be back at this place as soon as possible.
If I could give this place 10 stars, I would.

Very cozy place, the stuff was very friendly, the are suggesting what to try. The food was excellent. The indoor is nice, but they have beautiful view on the river. I would guess that during summer is even better in the yard...

Great restaurant with friendly and professional staff. I recommend it with all my heart. They made me feel very welcome and comfortable. The staff also speaks English very well. This is a must go place if you're in Belgrade.

Balkan Express has one of the best views in Belgrade, with a feeling that you are out of town because of beautiful nature above Danube! It is very pleasant, the staff is friendly and polite, and the food is great. They also have a descent wine selection. A nice place for groups of friends, families and any kind of celebrations. The only downside is accessibility by foot and lack of parking space.

Very good view of Danube, quiet, cozy, nice staffs. Food is ok so far. Highly recommended for someone who want to take a break from city and spend an afternoon to relax. Better to make reservation in advance to get the riverside seat.
