Restaurant "Šešir moj" (Skadarlija)

Traditional restaurant in terms of decor and menu. The dishes were delicious (albeit quite rich) and the portions are generous. The staff were quite helpful, spoke English and they were friendly and had a positive attitude. The musicians were amazing, had a contagious joy and created an elated atmosphere. Their repertoire was quite something!
Also, it may come as a surprise to Europeans and perhaps mostly to Americans that smoking is permitted indoors. To smokers around the world, however, it is a luxury to be relished. Ventilation was super-efficient though, so the non-smokers were not annoyed and everyone was happy. I’m a smoker, my husband is not and for the first time in many years we were both able to enjoy a meal while seated and without myself having to step outside for a smoke.

Wonderful, great food, excellent service and big portions. The waiter was first class "old school" dude.

Our waiter was very helpful his suggestions were perfect and greatly appreciated. Live folk music adds to the already splendid atmosphere.

We visited the restaurant during our trip to Belgrade. We were served by their waiter Milan, who was very talkative, smiling and accommodating. He made our experience with the restaurant fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed. Their food is definitely the best we have tasted so far in Belgrade, 10 out of 10 stars from us.

We ordered one ‘Cevap Seśir moj’ for two people, a meat aperative plate, two shopska salads, a few beers and rakija.

Everything was quite tasty and the portions were large enough.

The music was quite good and listening to the songs of my home country Macedonia in Serbia gave me great pleasure. 🤍

The service was one of the friendliest I've seen in Belgrade.

We enjoyed the time here, yet:
-not sure how to appreciate this local dish pljeskavica & kajmak and chef's specialty, but they were a bit too heavy for us.
-the music became too loud when the musicians came closer and our discussion was interrupted; they were nice but a bit too pushy for my taste.
-it's not the place a local would go to (they say).
I give it 5 stars because I liked the atmosphere created with the musicians at a medium distance so that a conversation could be held.

Typical food, typical music and a quiet place to have dinner covered from the chaos of the street.
This is a very touristic area that I normally avoid, but this time this was a good choice!

We visited this restaurant on our last day in Belgrade. A truly special restaurant: amazing ambiance, the staff was very helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. We started off the lunch with two shots of the local Rakija and the traditional cheese pie. Followed by a traditional plate of Cevapi and Mix Grill Plate. Finishing off the lunch with their traditional apple pie. I highly recommend!!

We enjoyed an excellent lunch here....the Serbian salad of tomato, cucumber, and onion was really fresh and good and my beef rolled around cheese, wrapped in bacon and grilled was amazing. The beef dish was large enough that it could be shared. (This lunch was much better than our dinner that evening at the famous more historic restaurant further down the street, I wish we had returned here)

Great place! I went here with a big group of friends. Reservation was made in advance, we were well welcome and a nice was prepared for us on the first floor inside. Decor inside is very interesting as you can on the photo. I particularly like the green walls outside/in front. The food choice/menu is good, the waiters were very nice and polite. There was life music on the night we were there, but am not sure if its every night or on weekends. Dont forget to try the desert baklava. Pay attention there is a restaurant with similar name few meters down the street.

The restaurant is situated in Skadarlija, the street that represents the old Belgrade. Their food is really good, prices are reasonable for this part of the town and the view from the restaurant is really nice. The service is fast and they have live music in the late afternoon and evening.

Great food, great service, friendly staff. Live music and authentic atmosphere brings the soul of the bohemian area to life. Desserts are simple but fantastic! Affordable prices, considering the area. Must visit!

Excellent food, great service, great recommendations. The stuffed rolled pork steak in actual fact strongly resembles a cordon blue. Cevapchichi and Skadarlija were excellent. Situated in the main restaurant alley.

One of the nice restaurants in Skladarska street. Just be aware where the heavy smokers sit ...Food is good and you cannot avoid to listening to the local music band
